My Dodgers are off to a fast start, but it means nothing. The first ten games are against the Padres and the Pirates...

Three games down and only 22 to go until the return of Dodger relief pitcher Ronald Belisario from his latest drug suspension. Please forgive the Wikipedia source that I cite; with this guy it's about as real as anything else about him...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Belisario

Sometimes he doesn't show up to work for years at a time. Sometimes he does. Sometimes he gets kidnapped by aliens...other times he IS the alien...
He gets away with all of this for two reasons:
    1. His fastball is clocked over 95 mph.
    2. He works cheap. He signs any contract that they send to him.

Ronald Belisario is a fanatic follower of the Caribbean religion known as "Santeria." It's a cross between Catholic Christianity and Haitian Vodoo. Just as in the movie Major League he wants to sacrifice animals in the dugout. He claims that cocaine and marijuana are part of his faith and when he didn't show up to Spring Training two years ago, it took the Dodgers two months to find him. His agent couldn't find him either...then claimed that he had "lost" his passport somewhere.

It's believed that he is currently in the United States, probably hiding in a church or a chicken ranch until his suspension runs out. I can't wait...

Ozzie out for 5 games in Miami for saying he admires Castro. Cubans will boycott Marlins games till they fire him. Seems to me a bit of an over reaction.

He said that he "loves" Castro. One of my best friends was born in Cuba and watched Castro take everything his father ever worked for and then they came to America with nothing.

This is a dollar and cents decision by the Marlins. Cuban Americans despise Fidel.

Probably right and I guess it doesn't help that Ozzie is well known for saying stupid stuff and then apologizing afterwards. If he'd said that in Chicago it's most likely a non-issue, but that was Miami.

I don't know what to make of the Ozzie thing. I don't think he really likes Castro and he seems truly distressed. The Marlins can't afford a boycott right now so I don't know what happens.

Ozzie for sure is a loose cannon rolling around on the deck.

    :?
They have to fire Ozzie. Many Miami Cubans have relatives locked up in Cuban jails right now, while thousands of others had parents or grandparents shot down by the Castro brothers firing squads and EVERY Cuban family in Miami risked their lives while escaping to freedom in America.

They should fire the dumb bastard right now.

I don't think that is going to happen JO'Co but if it does't calm down soon it could.

Did you see any clips of his press conference?

    re: Ozzie

I saw the clips of his press conference and I was unmoved. What moved me were the interviews with Cuban-Americans who have already launched their boycott of the Marlins. One lady described how both of her parents were executed for disagreeing with Fidel...

    :(
So the first ten games with the Padres and Pirates are over. Man am I sorry to see those suckers go. What a bunch of palookas! I've seen folding chairs with better defenses and puddings with more punch. The Dodgers are now 9-1. Matt Kemp is sorry to see them leave too:
    BA - .487
    HR - 6
    RBI - 16
    SB - 1
    R - 13

JO'Co what did you think of the Dodgers rare triple play? Think it was ump assisted?

No. It was an absolutely brilliant play by the Dodger's catcher A.J. Ellis and the replay showed that. He understood what was happening from the beginning and he watched and waited for the ball to roll into fair territory. As soon as it was one inch fair, he pounced on it and the umpire behind him immediately signalled a fair ball when he touched it. Ellis is a 31 year-old minor league lifer who is starting for the first time. His bat was the only question about him. Defensively he's in the mold of previous Dodger catchers like Steve Yeager and Jeff Torborg...

Hey Joel, what's the over/under on Bobby V lasting the season with the Sox? Schilling says the players hate him.
