I'm starting this topic with a quote from TOK in another topic regarding Jeff Samaedzija (former ND WR) being named the Cubs' opening day starter. Tough choice. As I've said in the past, my favorite teams in no specific order are the Cubs, Cardinals, and Reds. Terry has lost his Astros to the AL and needs a new NL team to support. Does anyone have any suggestions for him?
I would like to be a Marlins fan, but first the will have to fire the owner. So being an old Ohio boy it's the Red's and Atlanta.
Bill, I sympathize with you. I would be heartbroken if my favorite team's owner decimated the team, as the Marlin's owner has done. He basically double-crossed the city and fans after they gave him his new stadium. He's a real jerk, to put it mildly.
AJ, unfortunately, your use of the word "abyss" fits. I'm getting an early start before the 2013 season begins: Wait until next year (2014)!
Good job, AJ. You saved him from the misery of spending summer after summer of his golden years basically rooting for Charlie Brown eventually being able to kick a football held by Lucy.
I'll keep a soft spot for the Cubs Sid, but the Reds and the Braves. Yeah Luria, I think that's his name, should be run out of baseball.
Yankees and Reds for me. Always have been. I kind of like the Cardinals as well. Gonna be a long year for the Bombers.
 An old family friend is attempting a comeback. I grew up with Chad Cordero's father. We played on the same Little League team and his mother grew up in my neighborhood too. The guy who taught him how to pitch, his grandfather George Encinas, is the same guy who taught me how to pitch. Our family has known their family since the 1930's. His older brother played on the same Little League team with Corey, and I've known Chad since he was in Little League... These people are a wonderful family that has had one tragedy after another for 50 years and somehow they survive without going crazy. Chad is attempting a comeback with the Angels and "The Chief" as he has always been known is a good, tough kid. I hope he makes it... http://www.latimes.com/sports/baseball/mlb/angels/la-sp-dwyre-angels-cordero-20130307,0,3237684.column
