Ugh... from what I'm reading the draft is dismantling the Aggies badly. I'm not sure there's anything left of our incoming class... and it looks like my best juniors are being scooped up as well.
The Dodgers drafted some kid #1 from Texas Midland Christian HS named Chris Withrow. Any of you Texans know anything about him? He looks good on film. http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070607&content_id=2011455&vkey=news_la&fext=.jsp&c_id=la
Hey Terry... <t>My Cards got Tomball HS/UT long ball masher Kyle Russell. Now can they sign him as he could go back to Texas? I know the rest of the Big 12 is hoping he reaches a deal. LOL !!</t>
Padres drafted one of our junior class, Corey Luebke, lefty, 3rd pick in third round. 8-1 this past season. Corey had an outstanding year and was selected at Big Ten Pitcher of the year. Don
Jarrod Parker, a local HS RHP was the ninth player drafted in the first round, by the D-backs. A 0.17 ERA, over 100 SOs in 55 IP. His team is undefeated and contending for the Class 3A state championship (4 classes).
Sid, A local boy here, Todd Frazier, was drafted #34 by the Reds. He was a star on the Toms River NJ Little League world champions back in the early 90's.
Sorry DD, Withrow wasn't on our radar so my guys didn't have much to say other than he was taken very close our top guy Ahrens who went 16th... Ugh... we also lost the #88 pick Eric Eiland.
George, Cool! Last year's 9th player taken was William Rowell, a 3b from my old HS in Pennsauken, Bishop Eustace Prep.
This is for DodgerDog, Noticed at #416 the Dodgers took Bobby Blevins, the LeMoyne starter who pitched so well against the Aggies during the regionals. With a nice arm and plenty of guts, Blevins has a shot and the Dodgers picked up a good one.
Terry...... <t>Kyle Drabek is currently in Class A and is 5-1, 4.17 ERA. 46Ks in 54 IP and will play in the leagues upcoming all star game. Look to be off to a nice start in his young career.</t>
