So time to ditch the old Hot Stove Topic...it's for real now.

Astros continued their struggles in Tampa Bay, for some reason we just don't play well there no matter how good we are or how bad they are, it's just a place we don't win.

Early start to the Rangers/Astros Silver Boot series this year Astros get the win in the 1st game. But the AL West is being dominated this week by the Mariners, Astros are 2-3 and looking way up at them.

I see Joel's rSox are also off to a slow start, occupying last place in the AL East this week.

But as my friend Sid would say, it's a long season, a marathon not a sprint!

Everything in LA is AOK, except relief pitcher Joe Kelly. He's blown two leads in ugly fashion, with his first pitch being blasted for a HR in both games. His stuff is still electric, so he must be tipping his pitches.

Kelly will get worked out. Verdugo hit a ball last night that I almost caught on my couch in Alabama. The Phillies are 5-0 for the first time since 1915.

Dodgers v Frisco is simmering... Kike slid hard into 2nd base on a force play last night and jogged to the dugout grinning as the Frisco SS stared at him...

Bellinger is en fuego. His grand slam last night gave him the MLB lead and he's batting .429, hitting both lefties and righties.

Yasmani who? One of our catchers is batting .444 and the other .333.

AJ Pollock makes a great Dodger...

Corey Seager is starting slowly. batting .143 coming off his surgeries.

    Dodgers vs Cardinals tonight...
    Bellinger looks like Ruth...
Frisco looks like the bottom of the West. They're the oldest team in MLB.
The Padres are improved. Are they for real?

Astros finally at .500 The 3 teams thought to be the cream of the AL, are collectively 13-17. Yankees/rSox/Astros. Meanwhile the Rays, the Tigers and the Mariners are all off to great starts. Long season!

Alex Bregman is so good he might even be able to play for the Dodgers! :D:D

I can recall seasons where one or more teams got off to great starts only to fall back to their normal levels as the season went on. One that stayed with me was Pittsburgh a few years ago in the NLC. Hotter than a firecracker for several weeks but finished at or near the bottom by season's end.

That was a possible combined no hitter...Bauer pitched 7 no hit innings but was at 117 pitches and Francona reluctantly pulled him. Bauer allegedly was fine with the decision. The bullpen made it to the 9th and gave up a leadoff hit. Indians did win the game.

Did I see the Dodgers dropped 2 in a row including a shut out? WTF?
My Red Sox have me looking forward to the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Cards young pitchers are the big story to me. They look great. No surprise that Yadier and Goldy are making me miserable. They've been doing it for years. I have no idea what Osuna was doing out there in left field. If I were him, I would just be quiet and take my lumps...

Ozuna is a horrible outfielder. Had a chance to rob a HR last night, and played it like a pony leaguer.
