Talk about a turn around season for Brey. At the begining of the season I think a lot of ND fans were figuring that this would be his last year as the ND coach. He hadn't been to the NCAA's in a few years and the program seemed to many to be stagnating. He took a lot of criticism for his handling of Chris Thomas and and a few other players, justified or not. Recruiting has been spotty, he's had some good players sign on as evidenced by current frosh Luke "Bam Bam" Harangoody and Tory Jackson, but he's also missed on a lot of players as well. But to turn the team around like he did this year, well I hope it's the start of something big, that he'll have a good run and that it will start him on a nice long run of NCAA appearances and good finishes. Hopefully the renovations and improvements to the facilities that were promised him when he came to Notre Dame will be finally put into action. I like Mike Brey, I was one of those who gave up on him and hoped that this year would be his last year. But I'm glad to be wrong. Terry Brey Big East Coach of the Year
