Hope the folks in Panama City stay safe. Scary stuff. Hope you Florida guys are ok. Sounds like you should be. My wife is in Orlando and not much going on. I’m in Myrtle Beach and it’s gonna go over us as a Tropical Storm tomorrow. Doesn’t sound good for the golf trip.

Yeah it's going to hurt somebody that's for sure, hitting with a lot of wind and surge. Hoping and praying for the best for the folks in Fla.

Myrtle Beach eh! Were you going to play in that tournament that they have every year. It's all amateur, worlds largest golf tournament I think.

My daughter and soninlaw live in Panama City Beach and the eye of the storm is.passing just to the east of Panama City Beach. They evacuated up here with us (Montgomery, AL). Their house is about 2 miles from where Jim Cantore is broadcasting from. We don't know.what kind of damage.is being done yet.

Safe passage to all of those involved. Recent weather patterns are ridiculous!

My pal in Niceville refuses to move. He's sitting there with his Buffalo Trace bourbon on the rocks and his Marine Corp attitude and he's not going anywhere. All of the F-35 aircraft have flown from nearby Eglin AFB to Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio, but he doesn't give a sh!t. He's not moving.

This reminds me of something I saw long, long ago. The worst hurricane ever to hit Rhode Island was bearing down on our house, which was cross the street from Brown University. My father and grandfather stood out front, drinking bourbon, leaning in to 100+ mph winds as if they were defying God himself. My grandmother was screaming at both of them to get inside, but they ignored her...

The next day, the house next door had been destroyed by a tree and there were ships downtown. We had to stay in the house for two weeks, because of all the downed power lines...

I interned at Wright-Patt for two years while in college. Air Force Logistics Command. My late uncle, MGEN Peter W. Odgers was the commander of the 4950th Fighter Test Wing there. It is also home to US Air Force Museum and it's newest attraction, the Memphis Belle.

And now you know the REST of the story!

I hope everyone on SB who is impacted by this storm and their families are well and in a safe place.

Stunning how quickly a storm in the Gulf can turn into a monster.

The minute that they named that storm Michael I had a bad feeling. Guess it turned out the way I feared.
We had little rain and some wind. May get some more rain tomorrow but we really dodged a bullet.
The section of the panhandle that got the bulls eye is not heavily populated. This could have been worse as far as cost in life and property.
Looks like it will be hitting Augusta. Not good news for golf fans.

Panama City ( not Panama City Beach) and a small town called Mexico Beach got hit really hard. PC has about 50 thousand people and Mexico Beach is just a village. A lot of damage both wind and water.
