Miami's attendance is ranked @ 51, average 41,000.....not bad at all and much better than many other name brands.....off course.....it will be nowhere close to a team that resides in the hills and remote little towns where there is nothing else to do.....and I didn't say Gainesville....did I??

    Gonz,

Now let's hear how Miami faired in percentage of seats filled. It is easy to have higher attendance than schools that have a 25000 seat stadium and you played in the orange bowl.

    hehehehe

<t>listening to you defend Miami's home attendance figures is like listening to an ND fan justify our rushing offense this year.<br/>
    <br/>
You suck. You are battling Stanford for attendance.<br/>

    Props</t>

It's the same mindset that cause people to linger around the site of a bad accident.....

41,000?? Heck Gonzo, we get almost that many for yell practice on Friday night!

As was previously stated... Miami plays in a much larger stadium than most of those listed around you.

It's hard to beat 45K if you only have 45K seats!

This thread got me curious to see what the top looked like, and I was rather surprised by two entries in the top 10.

    7) Nebraska
    9) Texas A&M

Considering the situations we're both in, I think that says a lot about our fans.

Lord knows the "coaches" don't deserve it, but I'm glad the kids are seeing a full stadium in spite of how things have gone.

    :D

Scott, I found this pdf file at: http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/Internet/attendance/IA_AVGATTENDANCE.pdf

It has Nebraska at 12 and A&M at 15.

I went looking to determine wht Miami's attendance percentage and found it to be 56% which was higher than I expected. ... but laughable when you consider that Troy had 74.62% and Vandy had 83.98%

Another finding was that the SEC had 5 schools in the top 10:

The lowest percentage in the top 10 was Southern Cal at 94.2%

Everyone in the top 5 was at or above 100%

 ...... when one considers the population of Dade County is estimated to have been 2.4+ million in 2006. Additionally, there were another 1.7+ million living in Broward County.

It's just a "cane thang" .... and Mark Richt "know aw 'bout it".

And BTW, what's up with Miami's QB of the future - Bob Marve??? Guy seems to have difficulty staying out of trouble with automobiles!!!
    http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/colleges/um/story/295084.html

And based upo da cane's passing game against NCSt, the future needs to be now!!

    8) Stupid move by Marve....broke a guy's car rear view mirror over a girl...then ran from police.....idiot.

We got three great QB prospects coming next season....I am not worried

    Miami has a bright future

Miami has 3 great QB prospects signing in 2008? I see Harris, who'll be a good WR one day and Rice who'll be a TE ... but where are the QBs?

It appears da canes' 1-2 punch at QB in 2008 will be Freeman and Marve. And I don't think too many are going to be frightened by Freeman's 48% completion % and 103 efficiency rating.

:D 8) It does so happens that Miami and Miami Beach police have units on the streets that are equal to the task of chasing down people on foot.....they are called the "Night Squad" and all are athletes themselves.

We have a kid from Texas coming in as a third QB and are courting one more from the South.

It will be open competition for QB at Miami next season.....the O line is good, ditto for the running backs, receivers.....and the D needs help at middle linebacker as Sharpton is a bust and some D linemen are out for the season but we are getting super studs recruits for our D line.

    ESPN.com ranks Miami at #1

Wow, the Canes play at 56.01% capacity. That's really impressive. :D Well it should go up next year with FSU playing in Miami. They travel well.
