Irish and the Hurricanes are going to tee it up in Soldier Field 2012 and will reopen the series. Lot of time has gone by and it's time to renew this rivalry that got too acrimonious in the late 80's early 90's.
    Miami vs ND

    Road Trip Ralph?

    Great PR for both schools.

I expect Kelly to make the most of this with recruits, etc. with regard to bringing the program back to national prominence......that is if Miami cooperates and loses. :D

I hope we play a second game in somewhere like Orlando. I wouldn't wish going to Miami to attend an ND game on any ND fans. Of course when ND plays there they actually fill their stadium. :D

3rd year is always critical for most coaches, they have had time to install their systems, they will have infused new guys recruited by them into the team, it should be a year that really tells you where things are going.

<r>Well if this game happens it will be great for a lot of reasons. I'll wait until I see it in stone before getting too excited. A chance to beat the "u" really gets me excited though. I'll refrain from any disparaging comments about the school as not to offend some of the closet miami fans I found are here on the board the last time I said anything.<br/>

I will say it comes at a great time as Kelly should have the Irish hitting all cylinders by the time that game gets here. <E>:D</E></r>

gip you do know the old Orange Bowl is gone and that they have moved up the coast to the Dolphins stadium. I think part of the old Orange bowls problem was that it was in the middle of a ghetto and a lot of the Miami fans were thugs from said ghetto. I don't think they've made it up the road to the new digs.

Hopefully this can evolve into a Late October or November classic. Right now we are woefully front loaded on our schedule and need some heavy weights on the back end.

    Terry beat me again. :)

Dolphin stadium is a different animal than the old Orange Bowl. I wouldn't mind going there, but my last trip to the Orange Bowl, in 03 I think, cured me of ever going there again.

Terry is wasn't just the stadium. Next time you're in Miami wear a ND teeshirt and just wait for the snake venom no matter where you are. Makes Ann Arbor seem like it has some class.

Well I have no love for the "City" of Miami its like going to a third world country and would love to see this game played at a neutral site in Orlando or Tampa when it comes to Florida. But many of you have to understand as well that the average guy wearing a Notre Dame T shirt in Florida is 81 years old driving 15 mph in the left lane of a four lane highway wearing black socks upto his knees with sandles and is living in the retirement mobile home park for 5 months of the year so he doesn't have to pay taxes to the state. Not the picture of what NBC portrays during football season....

If what I am reading is right, then after the Chicago game there will be home/home in 2014 and 2016. I'm not an esp big fan of neutral site games, even though I really enjoyed the Wash St game in San Antonio. I'd rather play ND home games in ND stadium and go to the other teams place. It's too bad you guys don't have an on campus stadium, but SunLife is really closer to Ft. Lauderdale isn't it so it'd be just as easy to stay in Boca or Ft. Lauderdale and play some golf than to stay in Miami right?

I've been to a couple of ND games in Soldier Field over the years. It's as close to an ND home game as it gets.

I can see now why Cane fans are so brave at challenging ND fans.

I've been in Ireland too long. At first read, my first thought was: "Shouldn't that have been the RIGHT lane to suggest slow in the fast lane... Then I came back to US reality.
