I have enjoyed the Miami Hurricanes for well over 30 years, good and bad they are my team. But even I am getting sick of the media/ESPN (same thing these days) talking all this love for the Canes. Let the kids play more than two stinking games before we apply for sainthood for the team. It finally hit the top when Lou Holtz decided he was on the bandwagon as well. Heck Mark May is agreeing with him, what has the world come to...? I still think rankings should not be assigned until mid October when we actually know who is worthy of being ranked in the top 25. Florida is ranked #1 at the moment but honestly we don't have a clue who they are because they have not played anyone yet and won't until they play LSU. Huskerman probably has kicked  two TV's in by this time after hearing the constant rabble by the media of the Canes... Just Let'em play ball!!
Well the Canes deserve the buzz, they are the story of the year so far a team that was supposed to be 0-4 is 2-0 and heading for a big game.
Ralph, I think the game this weekend tells us a big story. If Miami wins then I have to think they are for real. A close game and probably about the same. Hey enjoy the positive press.
Ralph, Because of nice guys like you and Randy Shannon, I may have to abandon my mental boycott of UM which goes back to the Jimmy Johnson years. Heck, I've already abandoned my 20+ year boycott of Sports Illustrated. Why not UM? Seriously, congratulations on your early success and best wishes for the continued restoration of the passion and excitement that is generated by winning with class.
AJ, you could not possibly dislike Miami more than I did. These are not your father's Hurricanes. Give'em a break. And please.....please....don't take me off your Christmas card list.
Thank you for the great comments, much appreciated. I did notice though that Huskerman kept me on his Christmas list, thanks AJ.... RC Bill, That is a great article on Shannon, thanks for sharing it. He sure has been through the ringer of life...
Who the hell started taking the mail out of Missouri? No wonder this country is going to hell in a hand basket.
