To bad, I thought he was a classy individual and his record was 59-15 in his 6 years at Miami.

If I had an extra 10 million I'd buy Richt out of his contract at UGA and send him to them.

Tailback, it was only a couple of years ago you were very high on Richt. And I bet Miami would jump on him if he were available.

I don't know Larry Coker, and everybody says he's a classy individual. But I do know that under his leadership Miami back slided into being a thug football team again, at least IMHO. But it is is hard to imagine a guy with a NC and 80% winning record not getting the chance to turn it around. In the end it was not the bad season, it was the Hurricane behavior off the field that sealed it for him.

I think you are right Terry. But I think he deserved a chance to turn that around.

And Donna S did whith Coker what she said they would not do with the players, threw him under the bus.

I have some mixed emotions here because I think you have a point. But I think that he had made some progress with that image and I think it's going to be tough for whoever the coach is to buck that Miami tradition.

    Gotta agree with Bill here.

Coker is a gentlemen and a classy individual. Of all the Miami coaches no one has administered more discipline, suspensions and punishment than than Larry. Miami and Donna Shalala and the media threw him under a bus after the FIU game. Miami not only had their kicker attacked but he was also kicked in the head!!

There's not a team in the country which would have reacted differently under the circumstances. The media chose to focus their attention on Miami's reaction and not on the players who precipitated the action, who no longer play college football.

Heard an intersting thought about Schiano on ESPN radio. Some thought that he might be next in line for PSU. Most however think that they'll replace from within.

They say that Rutgers is offering a 10 year 2.2 million package for Schiano. There must be some wealthy alumnus stepping up to the plate.

That should be enough to ward off Miami especially since Miami is on the hook for 3 million or so with Coker. I think Miami will look at USF's Leavitt. He's an excellent coach with S Florida ties. Also Mrs. Schiano does not like S . Florida.

Penn State will hire from within. That's Joe's wish and they would be sending the wrong message to all the coaches who have spent years at PSU. Schiano is sitting too pretty at Rutgers. Why go anywhere else and be under pressure every time you lose. He's got something special in New Brunswick that he could not get at any high profile program. He could be comfortable @ 2.2 million and if money was really an issue wait for an NFL offer which easily would double any that a college team could offer.
