WaPo Columnist Makes The Natural Career Progression … Working In The Obama Admin…
    [IMG]
certainly not the first to make the leap.

    Via WaPo:

Stephen Barr, who authored The Federal Diary column for several years, this week joins the Labor Department as a top public affairs official.

Barr will serve as senior managing director of the Office of Public Affairs, making him the most senior career official in the office, according to Labor Department spokesman Carl Fillichio.

The move makes Barr a member of the Senior Executive Service, a corp of senior federal employees that Barr covered from 2000 to 2008 as author of the Diary, a column widely-read by federal employees nationwide that remains one of the longest-running features of the Post (and is now authored by colleague Joe Davidson).

Report: Record 19 Reporters, Media Executives Join Team Obama…
    [IMG]
“Liberal media bias is a myth” alert.

    Via Washington Examiner:

For some Washington reporters and media execs, cheering their team from the sidelines just isn’t good enough: Tugging on a red, white and blue Team Obama jersey is the answer.

That’s the case for a whopping 19 journalists and media executives, including five from the Washington Post and three each from ABC and CNN, who’ve gone into the administration or center-left groups supporting the president.

Those inside the administration hit 14 this month when the Post’s Stephen Barr joined the Labor Department. That’s a record, say some revolving door watchers, and could even be much higher: The Post reports that “dozens” of former journalists have joined the administration, although Washington Secrets couldn’t verify that tally.

What Liberal Bias? Taxpayer-Funded NPR Host Garrison Keillor To Host Obama Fundraiser…
    [IMG]
    Still a myth.

(Politico) — Well-known public radio host Garrison Keillor is hosting a fundraiser for President Obama in his home state of Minnesota.

Obama campaign manager Jim Messina will be in the North Star state this week for several events, including a fundraiser at the home of Keillor, Minnesota Public Radio reports.

Keillor is best known for the radio variety program A Prairie Home Companion, a show that features dispatches from the fictional Minnesota town Lake Wobegon. His show is produced by Minnesota Public Radio and airs on public radio stations across the country.

Keillor also endorsed Obama in 2008, saying that his election would “bring an end to a long sour chapter in our history.” In response to Keillor’s endorsement, Obama said in 2008, “as president, I will wake up every day thinking about how I can help make life better in places like Lake Wobegon all across the country.”
