To open up an old stupid argument/debate I had to endure in Michigan back in Dec. 2006 if Ohio State beats Michigan 45-44 and NW 47-45 having just beaten Md. 52-51 then the Buckeyes deserve to get in the playoff over every other one loss team including Georgia if they were to win the SEC. Seems a little whacky that argument doesn't it with such a poor defensive showing by the Buckeyes?
Ohio State opens as 3.5 point underdogs at home to Michigan. Buckeyes haven't been the 'dog for this series since 2011 the last time Michigan won.
I listen a lot to ESPNU on XM Radio..and there has been constant talk about how Urban Meyer looks on the sideline...most of the hosts have commented that he doesn't look right. What's the chatter on the Buckeye boards?
Terry, pretty much the same locally. He really did look and appear to be exasperated during the game Saturday live on TV. He keeps saying he is fine but I am beginning to think otherwise. I was not too happy either!
"Although it is rare to find Urban Meyer’s teams as underdogs, it does happen. Through 11 years of combined Florida and Ohio State head-coaching, Meyer’s teams have been underdogs just 12 times. His record as an underdog is an amazing 10-2 (83.33%) ATS – 5-0 at OSU and 5-2 at Florida." https://www.sportsbookreview.com/pi...-buckeyes-under-head-coach-urban-meyer/80585/
I was surprised by just the 3.5 points. Our defense has been very lacklustre the second half of the season. The only way we can win this game is if Haskins can help outscore Michigan and that is not going to be an easy task.
Colin Cowherd reports that Meyer is retiring after this season. I think he has serious health issues.
The last time M was a favorite in Columbus was in 2004, a game I went to. Troy Smith carved us up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Loudest football game I ever went to. M is 0-6 v Urban and has only beaten Ohio once in the last 13 years. M fan forums seem very cocky about this game. I would have thought that the yearly ass kickings administered to us during the Tressel-Urban would have taught our fan base about the downside of premature smack talking.
