A few years ago I got pilloried on the Blue-Gold message board for suggesting that Manti Teo could not compare to BC's Kuechly. I mean they burnt me at the BB stake for my "disloyalty"

Yesterday, Kuechly had 18 solo tackles, 6 assists and 1 Int against the Saints for the Carolina Panthers. In slightly less than two full season he has amassed 310 tackles.

I am something of a student of quality LB play and I have never seen anyone play sideline to sideline like this guy with an economy of movement coupled with the best form tackling I have ever seen.

If he stays healthy he will re-write the book for LBs.

Not the flashiest guy, but one of the single most effective players I've ever seen. He reminds me of, but may well have greater ability, than Sam Mills. He's one of those guys that the marketing people gloss for whatever reason, but there may not be anyone better in the game.

I recall when he started for BC as a freshman out of Cincinnati. Four years later, I was glad to see him go. He made life hell for ND.

But Kuechly is a great player. I forget why ND never gave him a look, he was a Cincy Catholic school kid who should have played at ND.
