for the Michigan Job, that he's not been contacted and that he's told the LSU AD even if he was he wouldn't leave. If Harbaugh doesn't take the job, then I wonder if UM will go after Greg Schiano or Dan Mullen? Schiano despite failing in the Pro's did turn RU around, no small task. Mullen is a hot coach right now, but is his offense what UM men want, it's the Urban Meyer offense.
Well, Bobda would have to speak to what UM fans want. But I've always gotten the sense that UM fans want a coach who will bring back the Schemebechler/Carr offense with the TB and big Pro Style QB's. Get the QB under center, Pro style, and run the ball with the power I. That's what Harbaugh did at Stanford. Mullen of course, like Meyer, runs a version of the Spread. Now it's obviously been very successful for him with Tebow, and the QB's he's had at Ohio State. Mullen with Dak Prescott also did extremely well. But I'm guessing that UM fans would prefer that the QB be more like Brady/Henson than Tebow/Barrett.
Urban Meyer said many times while he was at UF that he was not interested in the Notre Dame job...and he was true to his word! On the other hand Nick Saban told Miami reporters he was not going to be the coach at Alabama.
Miles must not be afraid to compete that's for sure. ( SEC West ) Either that or Michigan really hasn't called and it would be dangerous to his tenure at LSU if he was saying how much he would just love going back there as HBC.
Hot off the press one hour ago...... This guy would be the fan fav in my opinion: http://thebiglead.com/2014/12/16/jim-harbaugh-michigan-coach-job-les-miles-dan-mullen/ 49 million for 8 seasons...... wow!
Dave, I just started to bring up my computer calculator to see the annual figure and it disintegrated!
TOK, the M fan base is in a Harbaugh frezy which those who claim to have inside info maintaining that it is very likely he will go to M. Right now, there have been significant defections from the recruiting class and today a highly touted frosh linebacker transferred to WVA. If H does not come, the sale of antidepressants will go through the roof in AA.
8 years 49 million would make him the highest paid coach in college football at the moment I'm pretty sure. If he stayed in the NFL he probably could make a little bit more I guess, Belichek makes 7.5M. I'm guessing he'd for sure get 6M in the NFL, how much more I guess depends on how bad somebody wants him. It all gets down to is he done with the NFL or if he's not the size of his buyout in Ann Arbor. If I were the UM AD I would want a pretty big poison pill for going back to the NFL.
