Seems many members of media and others have been jumping off the Trump madwagon lately.... including Fox commentators and now George Will:

More musings about the budding dictator in our Whitehouse:

"In 2015 and 2016, when Republicans still had the chance to choose a different nominee, conservative critics leaned heavily on their belief that Trump had disturbing authoritarian tendencies. “Putin supports Donald Trump. The two men are authoritarian kindred spirits,â€￾ warned one column in National Review in March 2016. “Trump assures voters that he will use authoritarian power for good, to help those who feel — with good reason — ignored by both parties,â€￾ wrote Ben Domenech. “But the American experiment in self-government was the work of a generation that risked all to defeat a tyrannical monarch and establish a government of laws, not men. A government of the people, by the people, and for the people is precisely what the Constitution offers, and what is most threatened by ‘great men’ impatient to impose their will on the nation.â€￾

Nothing in Trump’s presidency has quelled these fears. Trump has repeatedly expressed, in word and deed, his belief that federal law-enforcement power must be personally loyal to him. He threatens policy retribution against the owners of news media whose reporting displeases him. He is using state power to enrich himself and his cronies in a way that far surpasses the standard of what used to be considered discrete “scandals,â€￾ and instead resembles the kind of oligarchies found in Russia, China, and the Middle East — governments that have not coincidentally won favor in Trump’s Washington."

I love the left's hypocrisy. They constantly claim that Trump is a threat to our democracy. Yet, it's the left that wants to do away with the second amendment, do away with the electoral college, squelches dissent on campuses contrary to the first amendment and supported a president that appointed "czars" and used executive orders to circumvent congressional action. We've seen a number of times where leftist ideologue federal district judges have used there powers to enjoin the administration only to be overturned by the Supreme Court.
Who in their right mind believes that Putin supports Trump? Trump has greatly increased the funding of our military. He's forcing NATO to increase their defense spending. He's trying to get Germany to get out of their natural gas deal with Russia. We've laid some pretty tough sanctions of Russia.
And lastly who's administration never took Russia seriously. Here's a hint

Just reposted some thoughts from an aricle I read George.... not that I disagree with any of it.

There has to be some pretty good reasons why longtime Republicans and other conservatives are either jumping ship or just plain retiring early.

Of course some are very vocal in why they are having a change of heart....like Ralph Peters who left "ashamed" of the propaganda style newsreporting he was a part of at Fox News.

If you don't think it's propaganda for the dull thinking masses pay attention to the buzz words that Trump so often uses like "fake news".... "rigged"... "they" ( when used in context with "out to get me"....
"Obama".... blamed for everything under the sun..... "evil".... my God that Hilary was so damned evil Im surprised she did't off Bill's wang after the Monica Lewisnsky scandal.

It's over and over and over again until that's all that seeps in to some of the slower... lazy brains out there.

Which is where the GOP draws it's primary electoral base.

The base is slow... but the GOP strategists are extremely sharp.

The rest of ya are very smart too..... but just so polarized by ideology and negative media messages about the opposition that nothing Trump does or says makes any difference.

It's pretty easy to see why some "republicans" are jumping ship. After all why would a bunch of elitist do-nothings support an administration that, greatly reduced business choking government regulations, passed a bill cutting individual taxes and slashing the corporate rates, greatly increased defense spending, took steps to secure our borders, nominated conservative Constitutionalists for the SCOTUS and intimidated N. Korea into at least sitting down to talk denuclearization? Yeah, I can see why RINOs don't like this. Something that they've always bullshited that they wanted is actually happening.

"“Surreal.â€￾ “Extraordinary.â€￾ “Disgraceful.â€￾ Lawmakers in the U.S. and abroad appeared shell-shocked on Monday following President Trump’s press conference with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in which Trump again refused to condemn Putin for Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, even going so far as to deny the conclusion of U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia was responsible"

Six more years of Trump and Americans will be rioting in the streets... refusing to pay any taxes or obey any semblance of law.

He is a cancer on America.

'The conservative editorial page of The Wall Street Journal declared the news conference "a personal and national embarrassment" for the President, asserting he'd "projected weakness." Newt Gingrich, ordinarily a reliable voice of support, wrote on Twitter the remarks were "the most serious mistake of his presidency."

Members of Congress, including several powerful Republicans, also distanced themselves from Trump's remarks and aligned themselves with US intelligence estimates that Russia interfered in the election."

Laugh of the week the media claiming that Trump should have back his intelligence community and his not doing so was terrible. You might remember the media that ripped our Intelligence community a new one after they determined that Sadam had weapons of mass destruction. And then the ripped them again when reports were that he'd tried to buy yellow cake uranium from African countries. And they ripped them again for using enhanced interrogation techniques on terrorists. Now of course the Intelligence Community is sacrosanct. Why? well it could be that the put an informant in Trump's campaign and never bothered to tell him. Or it could be that they obtained fraudulent FISA warrants to listen in on the conversations of his staff. Yeah, the Intelligence community has always been square with Trump.
And while we're at it just what the **** was our Intelligence Community doing to protect this country from cyber attacks and meddling in 2016? That seditious bastard Brennan was in charge of the CIA and apparently they were shitting in the bed while Russia was interfering with the election. Now that prick is railing on Trump!!!!
What's the point of making accusations against someone who a. doesn't give a **** and b. has his trigger on a large number of nukes? Like the chickenshit who hides behind his big friend cheering him on to give the bully what for, the media and some distasteful lawmakers were crushed when Trump tried to handle the matter civilly. They actually hoped Trump would announce "I told Putin not to rig our elections so that I don't win next time." What a joke.

And this week's hypocritical ******** award goes to (who else) Hillary Clinton who tweeted "To see the White House even hesitate to defend a diplomat is deeply troubling." Ah to be a Democratic voter and to not know what a complete pile of **** this is. Fortunately one of the surviving heros of Benghazi stood up and shoved it in her face.

Whatever you thought of John McCain it's a very strong statement he has made in death by excluding the current sitting president from his funeral.

Sorry to throw such a brain twister at you guys when I suggested Urban Meyer faced more scrutiny and punishment for his actions than does the leader of the free world for his and who himself wouldn't last a month in Urban's shoes with his lack of ethics and moral character.

MCG, you are entitled to your opinion but in my opinion you are still stating ********, and as I have said keep it here and not in the Sports board.

And I could give a crap less about your opinion of Trump.
