Watt is Irish! The five-star guard from Glen Ellyn, Ill. Very nice. Either a 4 or 5 star recruit depending upon which service rates him. Either the top or #2 OG/OT in the country right now. I keep giving CW credit for most of the great recruits coming to ND now but Rob Ianelllo seems to be the man as far as ND recruiting right now and he is responsible for Watt commit. I know a lot of Buckeye fans were counting on this kid to go their way and they are having a great recruiting year but Watt will be attending ND. Can't wait for the season to start. Only 55 Days to go till the Irish start some serious payback and kick some arse!! I know most of these kids have some serious frustrations to take out and I'm not one bit sorry for San Diego St. or Michigan in the 2nd game. They will both be leaving SB with thier butts properly kicked. Minimum 8 wins this season. Hope all the Irish haters got their jollies last season cause it's OVER! 8)
Tim, My son and I feel the same about this season. Anything less than 8 wins in 12 games would be a disappointment. We both agree that 10 wins is possible if everything comes together. Of course, the big question mark is the OL, which leads to........ That's great news about Watt. It's nice to get outstanding skill players but the OL is the foundation of the building.
Always good to get a big ugly with talent! This class is shaping up pretty nicely, you can always whine about the ones that got away, but it should be a good class, maybe not like last years class but a good compliment. If we do well on the field I think it will be even better. I'm optomistic about this year, but cautiously so. Terry
Recruit <r>Terry,<br/> <br/> I feel the same way. I'm pretty happy with the way things are going this year thus far considering the season we just finished and the outstanding class ND was able to get for 2008. I don't feel they will have any trouble at all finishing with a top 10 recruiting class if the get back to winning again. <E></E></r>
Congratulations on securing Watt. He is a good one! Technically we have 24 verbals and can only sign 25, but I am confident, we could have made room for him, if he chose the Buckeyes. Don
Feel free to start this topic again but Tim STILL had his profile set to notify him of replies and the system has sent reject notices for each and every reply. I just reinstated Tim's account for the second time in just a few days. I just edited Tim's profile and selected "NO" to Notify me of replies. Everyone needs to do this. PLEASE DO NOT USE THAT FEATURE!!!!!!!!!
Does everybody understand what's going on here???? Tim's email registered email is either no longer valid or his mailbox is full, since he chose to be notified when ever there is a post to this topic the system locks his account when the notifications are bounced back. It's there for a convenience factor, but it causes problems as well. As moderators we wish we could disable the feature but we can't. So we ask you not to use that feature. Terry
Terry, I think, in Tim's case, that this may be SBC blocking certain IPs. The Skybox system would use a different IP to send through the Earthlink server. His ISP allowed my message I sent to him through theskybox@earthlink.net. Of course, I was sending from an IP address in Shanghai, China. The moral of the story is that we, the members, can not trust that our ISPs will not block these messages. Spam blockers are working overtime and they block some legitimate messages. When these messages get returned to the Skybox, the software will eventually lock the account of the mem. This message is to get this information to the members and to test if replies will still be sent to Tim's account when the original post requested it even though his profile is now set to not sen replies. We'll see.
Latest Recruit <r>I think the Watt kid is a real important part of this class. It shows that dispite the pathetic performance of the O-Line last season, ND seems sees to still be able to draw the top OLs in. <E></E></r>
Well we picked up another OL, Zach Martin from Indianapolis Bishop Chatard. He was thought to be a Michigan lean, but in the end he was Irish! While Indiana is not a hotbed of football, It's nice to see Charlie pick off a couple of the top 10 players in the state. 1. Zach Martin - Indianapolis (IN) Bishop Chatard - OL - 6-5/270 - Notre Dame 2. Morgan Newton - Carmel (IN) Carmel - QB - 6-4/205 3. Jordan Barnes - Fort Wayne (IN) Homestead - LB - 6-0/225 - Michigan 4. Jordan Luallen - Greenwood (IN) Center Grove - QB - 6-3/196 - Georgia Tech 5. TyQuan Hammock - Fort Wayne (IN) Bishop Luers - LB - 6-1/220 6. Duwyce Wilson - Columbus (IN) East - WR - 6-4/190 - Indiana 7. Dolapo Macarthy - Merrillville (IN) Merrillville - QB - 6-5/200 8. Montez Robinson - Avon (IN) Avon - DE - 6-5/235 9. Tyler Eifert - Fort Wayne (IN) Bishop Dwenger - TE - 6-6/220 - Notre Dame 10. Kyle Koehne - Indianapolis (IN) Cathedral - OL - 6-6/290 I don't know who else is on the board for the Irish. Xavier Nixon is for sure but he's going to take all his visits and likely be a signing day commit for somebody. Anthony LaLota of NJ is listed as an OT, but supposedly is being recruited for DE. Patrick Ward an OT from Jifs city Providence has been sort of slow played by the Irish and doesn't have an offer yet, but supposedly is interested.
Zach Martin <r>Well at least we will have one true OT in this class. #1 player in Indiana huh? Nice. <br/> <br/> 48 Days till the Irish start kickin some butt!<br/> <br/> <E>8)</E></r>
I hear there is a serious debate in Ann Arbor whether we should even show up in South Bend and gets our butts kicked like Timmy predicts or safe face by forfeiting. Charlie has won the National Recruiting Championship while my poor Wolvies are in deep ****: a new coach whose buyout put the state in bankruptcy; a new QB, a Georgia Tech cast off, will have a hard time running the spread offense given that he makes John Navarre look like Carl Lewis; half our team has defected to other schools because our new coach and his assistants swore at the them during spring practice; the other half is either in trouble with the law or academically ineligible....
Wolverine <r>Bobda,<br/> <br/> don't go feeling too sorry for yourself and the Wolverines now....there is enough talent on that team to give anybody a good game. I'm just predicting an Irish win cause I don't think the wolverines will have that offense hitting on all cylinders yet when they roll into SB. <br/> <br/> After the season the Irish had last year, I don't feel very sorry for anyone this year. I just hope everyone enjoyed kicking us around cause it's time for some payback. <E></E></r>
Bobda!! Lol...you kill me!! RR has never had a unproductive offense, UM will end up the 2nd best team in the B10.
Recruiting <r>Well even as optomistic as I am, I don't think may Irish fans were expecting recruiting to go this good as this point. Coming off that disastrous season ya had to figure maybe 5 or 6 at this point as the rest would be waiting to see how the season goes. <br/> <br/> I've said it before but CW and his staff have really figured this recruiting thing out for ND. I think it just plain old hard work but ND has always had great selling points if we just had coaches that new how to use them. Obviously, this staff does.<br/> <br/> I just looked at Washington's recruit list thus far and Ty has a grand total of..............ZERO.....Nothing.......NADA........ZILCH........O!!! Oh but I forgot, he wants to wait and make sure he is offering only the recruits who really belong at UW a scholie. Besides that, he has some golfing to catch up on. <br/> <br/> In all sincerity, this is the way ND recruiting should always go every year and probably better once winning on a regular basis returns to SB. <br/> <br/> CW and his staff are proving over and over again that they are great recruiters. Now if they can be just as good at getting these young men to play well on Saturdays...........we'll see <E>:?</E></r>
Bobda, you slay me. Every year, you start moaning and groaning about how bad Michigan's season is going to be. Then you slap us around like a pimp slaps his girls. I have no doubt Michigan will rise above whatever adversity may befall its august program and once again be the great team it was destined to be.
Bob, That car won't look half as good to you if you don't have the same type of VIP parking available!
