UF lost their DCoord who'd only been on the job a month to go back to the NFL as a position coach.

Yesterday Texas A&M lost it's OCoord to go back to the NFL as a position coach.

NFL coaches must be making a pretty good salaray and I wonder if they have some sort of retirement plan as well that the college coaches don't have.

In an unrelated items. The NCAA has a new rule, let's call it the Muschamp Rule. If you are a "coach in waiting" then you are restricted in off campus recruiting just like the Head Coach would be under the "Charlie Weis" rule. Doesn't seem fair.

    Terry,

NFL coaches make a LOT more than their counterparts in college.
I'm not sure about any other benefits, but the money is MUCH more...

I don't know where you got that idea AJ. We don't have assistants paid at the rate that Kiffin got his paid at Tennessee.

But we do pay our successful coaches well. :)

Terry, that rule about a coach in waiting is dumb in my opinion. I don't think Texas has any more coaches that other comparable programs so why should they have restrictions that other assistants don't have?

It actually puts Texas 1 down in terms of assistants on the road recruiting. It sucks as a rule, plus Muschamp is probably Mack's best recruiter.
