Masterful performance by Carp again tonight, especially in the 8th. I'm thinking 2 words here: Cy Young. 13-3 and counting. BTW, is Cy even a word? CARDINAL NATION BABY!!
I see that el jiffo's favorite former Red Sox, John Smoltz, is considering the Cardinals for the stretch run.
I saw that...we can use him. Everybody thought Weaver was washed up, but Duncan sure used him during the WS title of '06....
SMOLTZ is a done deal. Welcome to Card Nation John!! Hey Jiffer!! Thanks for all the help (Lugo, Smoltz) you guys are sending our way!! And thanks for paying the bills on those 2 also!! LOL!!
Larry, I'm thinking we got a chance to at least squeak into the wildcard spot with this team... BTW, Smoltz gets his 1st start Sun in SSD.
If Smoltz works out at all in the NL that will just be further proof of how sh*tty that league has become. I was a big Smoltz fan for years, but this season, he was batting practice in the AL.
Corey, you ignorant slut... He just needs to be motivated. Duncan will get him fired up, just as he did Weaver when everybody else lost faith. I'm thinking Cards, Giants, Dodgers, Phillies, Rockies here...pretty good baseball teams that on any given series can put a pretty good thumpin' on any team in the MLB.
I suppose he could find motivation in the fact that not everything he serves up will be bouncing off his forehead or the bleachers. I wish him well, but buyer beware... this dude got hammered in the AL. BTW-I appreciate the SNL reference
How about Ryan....2 dingers on the season...the latest being a G SALAMI in front of his home town fans!!!!
On Ryan... <t>The thing that impresses me about him is his glove. He gets better there each game. Young man has a nice future ahead of him.<br/> Carp goes tonight.</t>
Yep. he just needed to be motivated. New club record for consecutive S/O's. And awaaaaayyyyyyy we GO!!
those NL hitters are a joke. This guy couldn't out someone in San Francisco and all of a sudden he's Noal Ryan? Sheeesh.
