All tied at half 0-0....Irish appeared to have the better of it throughout much of the half but couldn't punch it in the net and our keeper had a couple nice saves.... Go Bucks!
Irish win 1-0. Way to go Ladies, most likely have to play the #1 team in Stanford for the title though.
I watched the game, Terry. That analysis is correct. One of the ND players, Julie Scheidler, is the daughter of a guy I taught how to swim when I was a lifeguard in college and he was 4-5 years old. Talk about feeling old.
This was the first appearance by the OSU women's soccer team in the final four bracket. I think the talent and experience of ND might have been the difference. Great effort by the Buckeye ladies non the less!
I think so as well Don, Irish have been to the final 4 something like 5 times in a row and 7 out of the last 8. We play #1 Stanford today, they are the most talented team in the country it will be a big upset if we win.
True....the Irish gals dominated the play the entire game. Our girls were fortunate as a result of several great saves by our keeper and shots off the post or we never would have stayed in the game. That said, our girls hung tough and came up with a rush of their own late that resulted in a shot off the post that would have tied it up......congrats to the Lady Irish!
Great win for the Ladies!!! That's our 3rd Nat'l Championship. I don't believe anybody other than UNC has 3 like the Irish. Of course UNC has like 20!
 Great win! I watched it this morning and the coach is right. Notre Dame won each game in the playoffs with goals by their super frosh class. They're the best now and have a chance to repeat three more times!
Terry, I did not realize the Irish were so young. Looks like a great future for the ladies over the coming seasons.
As long as we have Randy Waldrum as our coach we're going to be a national player. We lose our goal keeper off this years team, and she's been outstanding. I'm sure we'll have somebody to play next year but until they do you never know if we'll be as good in goal...which of course in soccer is pretty important!
