I have a question for you. Now ESPN is reporting that the Yankees have changed their mind and are willing to discuss contract extension with A-Rod.

Boy must Mariano be fuming......A true Yankee, your best Yankee in the past 10 years and you won't talk with him but a non-Yankee they step right up to the plate.....What is going on in the Bronx??? They let a player come and go as they please and now do negotiations during the season. Dynasty crumbling??? Damon allowed to grow back his beard next year? I just don't get it.

I just overall feel bad for a guy like Rivera, a true gamer, true Yankee, most underpaid closer and now getting a bad deal. What you think Krebie?

I know as much about this as you... two paragraphs on the ESPN site. In my opinion, Posada is their most important target to re-sign, then Rivera, then A-Rod.

The word from the Best Coast is the Yankees will sign free agent Frankie Rodriquez of the Angels at the end of the season. At least thats what he thinks. He's the youngest pitcher ever to 100 saves at age 24...

I don't know what the big deal with Posada is. Doesn't every team have a switch-hitting catcher with some pop that can manage a continually-changing pitching staff like nobody's business?

I'm glad someone agrees with me Rick! Especially since the Yankees have no catching prospects in the minors to speak of.

Rodriguez is not getting much talk out here. If the Yankees make a move on him, look for them to sign Rivera for one year with an option at a hefty increase and Rodriguez would serve as a set up man as Rivera did for Wetteland, then take over.
