Hope you boys are safe and sound....nasty weather going on in your neck of the woods! Looks like Tuscaloosa got whacked pretty good...
Diane posted on facebook that Corey and family were OK. Corey did leave the funnel tunnel to watch the tornado.
Corey checked in here. He raced a tornado home and wound up in a shelter. He said that entire neighborhoods of homes are just gone and powerlines from the nuclear plant are on the ground... Carson said the sirens were going off as he was being picked up from school...
 Corey and Des checked in last night with horror stories I was listening to the Fox Chnanel they mentioned Al so I turned on the weather channel to watch in horror what was going on. saw the Tornado go thru Tuscaloosa then birmingham but what was really bad saw the red triangles overlapped each other in the northern part of the state couldnt get the kids on the cell phone finally Des called to say they were in the shelter and Corey on way there. I'll take my earthquakes over any tornado anyday. just glad my family is safe and pray for those who are not. KP I hope you are Ok. Corey said the power and phone towers are down will be awhile before they will be back up and running/
I know last time I heard from Corey he was on his way home to pick up a few things . and see the damaged sd a friend asked him to drive my her parents house to check on them and her two daughters Corey was very upset sd the whole neighborhood was gone. I dont know what happened hopefully they were in a shelter havent heard from Corey or Des since about 9 last night . but they have no pwer and he was charging what time he could from his car to his cell. but the cell towers where also down. Last night I didnt know whether to pray and thank God that my family was safe or that others would find their families safe. so I just did extra prayers for everyone. Joco told me to watch the wedding stuff all day and no weather channel
Yeah that whole night just sucked. After the storm, I had to check on my friend's kids. Found their neighborhood gone. That was horrible. Had to call her back and tell her not to panic but to rather call the Limestone Co EMS to check the shelters. Thankfully, that's precisely where her mom and daughters were. I went with Des and Will to make sure Will's place was ok. It was. After that, i got a text from some friends up in Harvest who had their homes severely damaged by the storms, so I was up real late taking the chainsaw to trees and tarping roofs. We asked one guy for his tarp to cover this old gal's roof. We had cut the tree out of it but she needed it sealed to get thru the night. This guy was using his tarp to cover his RV. His answer was 'The Lord helps those who help themselves. people should be more prepared.' I couldn't fackin believe it. So, after my bible lesson I had the boys hang around a bit. We 're-appropriated' the tarp about 4am and had the old gal's roof covered and nailed down by 4:30am. I didn't stick around to lecture her neighbor about the food chain and his permanent position under me on it. I'm sure he'll figure that all out soon enough. It's very, very bad here. I can't even begin to accurately describe it all to you. I finally got to watch TV coverage yesterday. It seems that the media is focusing on the Tuscaloosa to Birmingham tornado that turned north, ripped up Arab etc on the way to Rome, GA and into Tennessee... I can understand that. What's not really being covered is that we had so many tornadoes on the ground at once. We had another one that was at least an F4 that started in Eastern MS... it absolutely destroyed the small communities of Hackleburg, Phil Campbell etc all the way up to Harvest (where I was tarping roofs) and into Tennessee.. I'll embed this video of some of the aerial coverage of what the 'unreported' tornado did to Hackleburg. I know for a fact that they don't have accurate death or casualty counts in so many of these tiny communities because they can't get to them and/or the EMS/Rescue/Salvation Army etc services were destroyed so they're a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Things are getting better slowly, but it's still nuts. No power, but everyone you know of is safe so fret not. <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/CBnisypTrzM" frameborder="0"></iframe>
