Dislike folks self-promoting their own teams, but I wanted to share this.

1992 Purdue team has 3 players and one assistant coach who are now head coaches in the NCAA. Combined record is 1125-396 (.730) with 13 combined conference titles and 19 NCAA tournament appearances.

This doesn't include two other head coaches who played and/or coached under Keady...Steve Lavin (168-92, one conference title, 7 NCAA appearances...left Purdue in 1991) at St. John's or Kevin Stallings (384-222...2 conference championships, 8 NCAA appearances...left Purdue in 1988) at Vanderbilt.

Keady really is a forgotten guy isn't he. I remember you pointing out that he had a winning record vs Bob Knight, never would have guessed that. While I knew Painter played at Purdue for him, didn't know the other guys were part of his tree.

Maybe if he'd had better hair he'd have gotten more recognition! :)

Not in Indiana, Terry. Even the casual college BB fan here is well aware of the success of Keady's former players and the fact that he had a winning record vs. Knight. However, I had long since forgotten that Painter, Martin, and Darner were together on that '92 team and that Weber was an asst. coach. Nice article.
Good thing we don't have that here.
