Cool article on the game ending TD: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/austin_murphy/01/10/tebow.jump.pass/index.html?eref=sircrc
That's a funny ND reference. I know the 'anti-Weis' crowd took great pleasure in Nelson's TD.... 'Take that Weis!' read one reply on the Game Day board on NDN during the title game.. I'm glad the kid had success. He's got 2 NC rings now. Can't fault him for that decision one bit. He was committed to Ty more than he was ND. I'm fine with him going to FL. Kudos to him stepping up in the big game.
Just one of the many stupid remarks on internet boards Corey. Nelson has not been a star but he's made some clutch catches this year.
so true, but we seem to have an abundance of them. I just chose one example to keep it short I know you have the same feelings I do about chumps on team message boards and their 'what have you done for me' lately emotipostings.
Although Nelson was huge vs. Bama and Oklahoma and he had a huge hand in UF winning two titles...I think his time really is going to be next year. Nelson, Riley Cooper and Hernandez will be the key receivers no matter who is throwing the ball.
Hey if this kid wanted to play for Willingham you know he makes the best decisions. I hope he has a long and successful career in the NFL.
So, does this hold true for all of the young men TW recruited and signed to a Notre Dame scholarship? BTW, considering Nelson has two SEC and two MNC rings .... he seemingly made a pretty good "choice" in signing to play at UF. Plus, growing up as a Texas fan, I'm sure the chance to catch the winning TD in the BCS-MNC game over the Sooners was "pretty sweet" for him.
Yeh, it was played last Thursday night in Miami!! another replay (3rd since Frdiay night) will start in about an hour.
Sun Sports. Plus, at 1PM they'll have a live broadcast of the MNC celebration from Thw Swamp. Unfortunately, good chance of rain, but temps are closing in on 70 degress. Yesterday, was absolutely glorious - sunny and warm !!
No most wanted to attend and play for the school not the coach. That's why the began there after he was fired and stayed there after he was replaced. In fact many were quoted as saying that they always wanted to go to ND. But then some go to a school for an education and some go for rings.
I have made a copy of this years Gator bowl for anybody that didn't get a chance to see it. I'll gladly send to any and all interested parties.
