Did it start yet down there , George? We expect 20 inches 50mph winds power outages etc. This is a biggie
we're getting some snow down here...actually coming down pretty heavy, might even stick and cover the ground. My sister is in Panama City, FL was getting some also....I've lived here since 2002, this is our third snow.
We're done here.....nary a flake in sight. Kids thought is was cool....maybe more tonite. Still cold tho....40ish.
Coming up on 9:00P. Absolute white-out blizzard conditions. Driving snow with 30-40mph winds. About 25 degrees. Wind chill half that. Up to around ten inches.
We lucked out this time. The snow that is hitting the southern and mid-atlantic states went around us to the south. Without looking it up, I'm guessing that the storm that's hitting Jersey and New England must be coming down from Canada or across the Great Lakes.
How's that Global Warming working out for you? It rained again today. That's 11 of the last 12 days here in sunny SoCal. The UN "progressives" say that we had better transfer our wealth to the Third World nations (that they control) to fix this problem! I say we pull a Groucho and toss them a Life Saver... http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article.aspx?id=557597
Great article and something I have witnessed first hand is how University's and Scientist manipulate hard data into being false. I battle with UF scientist on the reality's of certain crops that bring in grants and may build programs but in the real world there is assurance that it is not working. I being the naive farmer that I am shared all my data with department heads and soon learned that I was standing in the way of a bigger agenda and my information did not align with their future. The result was to ignore what the data said and hope I would go away, that is until they needed my help with letters of recommendation on the next grant they were after. We hit 29 again this morning in SW Florida and will be colder tomorrow. This is now the coldest December on record in the state of Florida. And I am tired of working both days and nights trying to protect crops in this global warming era...I wonder if Al Gore will take my calls...? Ralph
Woke up to unbelievable sights. 2-3 feet deep on my top deck; 3-4 feet against the fences. Roads have not been touched. Winds are now 25-30mph after night time bursts near 60mph. Temps in the low 20s. Had to close the business. All airports closed as are all RRs. New York City is paralyzed. The only thing I have going for me is that Scott and Adam are snowbound in the same house so I have some help.
Time lapse view from Krebs living room of his deck! <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/18213768?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="398" height="224" frameborder="0"></iframe>
24 hours hours ago it was dry here. Now I have 6' drifts on my roof. It took me four hours to shovel 3' off my top deck. i think my inground pool cover sleeps with the fishes. We are stranded not ven the plows can get to our neighborhood. Here's a winter tip for all of you from my son, Adam. When a blizzard approaches, make sure all your car windows are in the up position.
Sure picked a great time to visit family in NYC didin't I? 6th largest one day snowfall in city's history. Sister in NJ got just under 30 in. Central Park claiming 20. Almost impossible in some places to get from sidewalk to street dut to plow hills. Wind causing problems undoing plowing efforts. Checking out Broadway tonight. Annicersary at West Side Story. Wife will cry again.
Enjoy the show Gip....sure will cut down on the crowds! Was watching the tv this morning and every time they cut to a shot of Times Square, I didn't see one taxi....looked very odd. We saw Mamma Mia during our recent visit.....next up is Jersey Boys then West Side Story...that is if I get to vote, which I typically do not.....
