I call BS on that number.

I know they have a LOT of money pledged toward the stadium rebuild, but it's only 2/3 of the $450 million needed, and its in the form of PLEDGES that can be paid over 5-10 years. NOT CASH.

Sorry Ralph, I didn't mean that to sound like I was annoyed with the messenger.

It's just getting out of control how the media can throw anything they want out there, and it doesn't even have to be remotely accurate.

I used to take everything with a grain of salt, but now I'm getting to the point where I assume the opposite of whatever I hear.
    :p

And don't worry - I'm still a fan of Florida citrus!

USAToday Heisman Watch has Johnny Manziel back on top with A J McCarron in 2nd place.

McCarron is really good and valuable to the Tide, but I don't believe that if you switched QB's that he could have produced 42 points with the A&M offense against the Tide defense. While I think Manziel would have produced a ton of points against the A&M defense with the Alabama offense.

    Thanks Sid, that clarifies things.
The first article implied it was for the athletic department (boosters).
If they meant all money to the Univ then its much more believable.

Wow! Those are all the QBs since Couch? Amazing. We here in Indy are happy to have Trent Richardson. My take on giving up the 1st round draft choice is that, unless the Colts flounder badly, we should finish at least in the middle of the pack (hopefully better), which means the Browns will have a very good but not great draft choice. We should be able to find solid OL in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Potentially great trade for the Colts. As that article said though sucks for Browns players and fans to essentially give up on the season and play for high draft choice.

Texans had year like that when they drafted Mario Williams with the #1 overall pick (over Reggie and Vince Young). But we were clearly going to be terrible before the season even started and as things went along fans started rooting for the team to lose so we could get the #1 over all pick. I doubt if the players enjoyed that season though. Losing has to wear on you pretty heavy.

I remember that Houston draft. It was big news that the fans were deeply disappointed that they picked a DE vs. Reggie or Vince. It worked out OK. I remember the years when the Colts were woeful. It was sad. That all turned around when they drafted Manning.
