I and, I think, most of us here are not big NBA fans, but I just wanted to say that I saw him play back in the early 60s in the dirt-floor ND Fieldhouse (with a regulation basketball floor installed during the season) when he was with the U. of Evansville. During a two-year stretch, U of E, I believe, went undefeated in the regular season and lost only one or two games the next regular season. Sloan was one of three outstanding players on that team. When I first heard the announcement, I thought he had decided it was time to hang it up.
