Does anybody really care about this exhibition? I think it's hurting the players, esp the pitchers who should be working with their teams tuning up their pitches under the watchfull eyes of their own pitching coach.
I was on the road today and listened to the game on my XM satellite radio. I enjoyed it. I found myself pumping my fist in the air when JV hit the GS HR. My brother in Orlando attended the Dom. Rep. - Venezuela game. He was awestruck by the passion and love for the game displayed by the fans. The stadium was packed like a sardine can. Jif, the Stern kid was the player of the game today for Canada. The announcers said that he had been penciled in as the Bosox CF if they had not gotten cereal boy. He's a good one, at least based on today's game.
Well today is an elimination game for the USA, so of course they go to their ACE aka Rustbucket Roger Clemens!! South Africa should be a challenge, I hear their pitcher Deng Umbabwa is a Zulu Warrior! Terry
Screw baseball and its prima donna, overpaid, spoiled players. Give me a sport like the Iditarod. While the players may bark at the owners, they are not taking "the cream" or " the clear" and always hustle.
Well, Lead by Rustbucket Roger the USA eased by South Africa 17-0! I guess there must be some sort of mercy rule in the WBC because the game only went 5 innings.
Terry, I think I heard on the radio the other day that it's a two-tiered mercy rule: 17 runs after 5 innings and 10 runs after 7 innings. Check me on the details, but I'm pretty sure that's it.
Looks like a Trail Attorney who has encountered some tuff sledding. Talk about the Wheels of Justice.
