Who is this guy Joel , a Rabbi? Did you see Joe Pa on the sidelines? He still ran out on to the field with the team. He lost a little speed from last year. He has a bigger gut and needs to work it off after the long layoff with the broken leg. Everything else is the same, you know, white socks, black sneakers, etc. Did you know he's going to be 81 this December? He should be doing commercials for the fountain of youth. You should have seen his energy during the pep rally. better yet, you should have seen him Sunday when he was cracking the whip on the players who had to clean up the stadium as part of their penance.
Jacoby Ellsbury is a rookie CF from Oregon State. He has blazing speed and very good defense. He's not known for power, but he's started out hitting with some pop. Back when he was first brought up he got his first ML base hit on an infield single to short. You could hear the crowd gasp as he beat out the throw. In his second or third game he scored from second on a wild pitch. He's already made some highlight reel catches in both CF and LF. There are a lot of good kids coming up from the minors for the Sox.
AJ..No you are mixed up..Youkilis is the Rabbi! Ellsbury is the greatest thing to happen to Sox since Teddyballgame! JOPA could win it all this year...If so they will RENAME Brown Stadium in his honor! jif
Oh yeah, I forgot about Youkilis. I don't follow baseball like I used to. I used to be an avid fan till the strike back in what 93 or so. I take one peek early in the year and then I don't watch it again till it's time for the playoffs. How many games are the Yanks out ? Is it time for me to tune in and catch up on baseball? So Jacoby got some wheels, what ever happened to that other guy the Sox had who has some speed Cocoa Crisp ? Hey Jo Pa can go undefeated and PSU wouldn't even get a whiff of the MNC thanks to stinking Michigan and stinking Notre Dame and every other stinker on their schedule who lost . Not enough fiber in their diet. It figures, they have a great defense and an improved offense with nothing to show for. Besides winning their games, PSU will need a lot of help to have a chance.
Crisp was batting ahead of Ellsbury last night. In the 4th inning, with two runners on and one out, Coco hit into what could have been an inning-ending double play, but he beat out the throw to first to pick up an RBI and keep the inning alive. Ellsbury hit the next pitch out, and Halladay cursed. Nice to see you and the avatar you rode in on back, Andy.
Always good to have a beer with you guys. Now this is a man's best friend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcU4Op6wq4w&mode=related&search=
Jiffer, You're scouting report is very familiar. I think it is word for word the same as the one you gave for the "next Joe DiMaggio", one Rocco Baldelli.
Good catch Krebs.....BTW your avatar and Sids are similar and I find myself confused as to whose posts I am reading.
