It's not like he's making a pitance at MSU, I think he's north of 3 mil/year...not bad. Not to mention cost of living in Michigan is bound to be pretty low these days!
Like so many things in life this was a matter of timing. Friends of Izzos told us that his wife vowed to stay at MSU as long as her parents were alive. One died this past year, the other has pancreatic cancer. Izzo is a friend of Dan Gilbert owner of the Cavs. It's pretty clear that this situation has been difficult. My guess is that Labron just didn't give him what he needed to commit. They guy has a great record. Another championship would put him in the top tier of college coaching greats. Michigan is a nice place to live....if you're making 3 mil. or so.
