and you know what that means. I'll be talking football that you don't care about over your golf talk, but posting beautiful women of the world at the World Cup to make up for it. Prepare yourselves.

this morning was Egypt vs Uruguay. Uruguay pulled out a win with a goal in the 89th minute. That's a shame because the game was fairly level.

This game appeared to have been a wiener roast, OR was covered by gay male photographers (never rule that out). There just wasn't a lot to choose from for this one.

Iran and Morocco. I could lie and say I'm not even going to try, but the fact is, I actually did try. Iran doesn't let their women in the stadiums and Morocco brought a lot of Islamobros. It was a game I didn't care about. Iran won 1-0. That's all I got.

Portugal and Spain played the Iberian Darby. This was a high talent event. We don't have enough bandwidth on the site. :)

Oh and Spain's Red Fury put up 3 goals, but Christiano Ronaldo dropped a hat trick for Portugal for a 3 all tie.

Iran vs Morocco was the worst game in World Cup history. Iran's strategy was to pull back all 11 players on defense and stall the entire game. It worked. The final 30 minutes had players from both teams laying on the ground in total exhaustion from all the useless ball chasing. The ref added 6 minutes at the end of the game and the Iranians finally got their miracle with a minute to go when the Moroccans had an "own goal" to blow their effort sky high. This was the worst soccer game I've ever seen...

The final game of the day between Spain and Portugal was the greatest game ever played: no kidding. Spain had the better team, but Portugal had the greatest player who ever lived. Ronaldo...named by his father after Ronald Reagan, scored a hat trick for the ages. He scored the first just two minutes into the game on a penalty kick that he set up. The second came just before the half and the last one came in the final minutes on one of the greatest direct kicks of all-time. He bent the kick up, over, and around the wall and past the hypnotized goalie...

This looks like the start of a classic Copa Mundial!

Earmuffs off to Iceland who forged out a Messy tie with Argentina.
As to yesterday’s game, the 2 Spanish goals in the second half were awesome.

Today's action saw Panama give it all they got against a top form Belgium squad, which lasted for a half before Belgium slapped them around. There were huge parties all over Panama because they've never been to the World Cup. Be careful what you wish for.

Sweden beat a scrappy South Korean squad 1-0 and honestly I thought the Koreans had some chances to at least level it. Sweden now sits atop Group F with Mexico, which now means Germany will have to beat them in order to stand a chance to get out of the group. That really isn't a place where one wants to be.

The English... oh the English. This game started as a total mismatch and eventually the English scored to go up 1-0. They looked like the greatest English team in 50 years. Then, they do what England always does. They fell back on their defense, which is never as good as they think it is and they committed a stupid penalty in the box for no good reason. Tunisia tied it at 1 with a PK. And in true World Cup fashion, poor Tunisia had their hearts broken with a 90th minute goal by Harry Kane. If England just decides to attack, they'll be a dangerous team. They won't though, because they are English and they can't help themselves.

    Thanks guys :)

Well today had a special feel to it early on.
It started with Colombia vs Japan. The Blue Samurai are tactically sound, quicker than you think and they never give up. Colombia is spectacularly talented, are loaded with beautiful women, but horrifically stupid. We saw it all on display today. 4 minutes into the match, Japan created a sure fire scoring chance but a Colombian defender flew out in front of the empty net shot with his arm out and deflected the ball away with his arm. Penalty kick awarded. Red card handed out. Japan buries the PK and now has to play with 10 men.

Colombia clearly didn't respect Japan as they didn't even start world class super star James (pronounced Hah-mess) Rodriguez. Well, now they had to get him off the bench and into the game. James was the star of the last world cup and you could tell that the Japanese were not going to let this guy beat them. They marked him tight and double all the way. Colombia went on to tie it 1-1 despite being down a man. The game seemed to be grinding to a stale tie as Colombia just couldn't risk the counter attacks by going on offense. Well, it didn't matter. A splendid cross and a strong header put the Blue Samurai back up 2-1 and the day had it's first upset.

The second game contained a bit of controversy. Poland has a master class striker, Robert Lewandowski. Senegal had a wonderfully talented and athletic team. Senegal got on the board with a friendly deflection that went in for a goal. Then early in the 2nd, Senegal had an injured player taken off the field. Now, I've never seen this but it is legal... with the injured player on the sideline, Poland decided to clear the ball back to the sweeper or goalkeeper and AT THAT MOMENT, for some reason, the official waived the injured player back into the game. He hit the ground on a dead sprint and ran away for a break away goal. Senegal is now up 2-0. Poland made it 2-1 after an incredible set piece by Lewandowski. They assumed he was going to shoot (why wouldn't he?). Instead, he hit a wide bender to his left which hit a Polish attacker square in stride for a beautiful header and goal... that was all Poland could muster though. 2 games. 2 upsets.

The third game was Russia against Egypt. Egypt pretty much blows except that they have Mo Salah, who set the Premier League scoring record this year for Liverpool, besting Ronaldo's previous mark. After that, they are just kinda okay. Russia, who hasn't been sh*t since they were the USSR are suddenly playing with speed, tempo, skill, physicality and determination. The Russians look real good playing in front of their homeland crowds. They slaughtered Egypt, and have all but secured their spot into the elimination round already.

as for the ladies of the Cup... We're gonna have to pace ourselves but Colombia always brings top notch talent. I could literally post images all day but we're pacing ourselves.

    Croatia 3
    Argentina 0

What a triumph for the Croats!

What a total disaster for the Argentines!

Croatia was superior in every phase of the game. At the end, the Argies were reduced to starting fights and cheap shots, but Croatia kept it's poise and responded by scoring even more.

Argentina's goal keeping and back line defense were as bad as I've ever seen. Messi didn't get much help on a team that was standind around waiting for him to save them. The Big Broom is needed in Buenos Aires...

Congrats to Croatia. They have arrived!
