that true freshman MLB that plays for Arizona State (Berfict?) is a show stopper. I'm not sure I've seen a better LB all year and I am a HUGE believer in McLean at Alabama... The kid is that good.

I had heard from the desert cartoon strips (known as the ASU football report) that this kid is the next Ray Lewis.. He sure looked it.

Yeah. His name is Vontaze Burfict, and he was all set to join USC when ED swooped in and got him to commit to ASSU. USC fans say he wasn't going to be admitted to USC, which led to his signing with the sunflowers.

I've read great reviews on him, but still haven't seen him play. I'm planning to watch the OSU/ASSU game this week since it's a bye week for UA, so I should see him then.

In addition to his skills, he's said to be a really good kid as well.

Wow, a kid who had that level of talent and USC was going to not admit him???? That's shocking to say the least. Not of course that Erickson would find a way to get a kid in as long as he can make his X.

Yeah the story as it is being relayed now is that the kid knew he was a minimum qualifier and needed academic help... ED convinced the kid that ASSU was the best place for him with a stronger support structure and tutor program.

I guess it does show he's a good kid though.. At ASSU, he will have a tutor teach him how to write a paper, at USC someone would write that paper for him.

Sounds like sour grapes from the Trojans.. 90% of their football team thinks Cum Laude is the new brand of Magnum condoms.

Anywho, heads up.. that kid looks like he's all that. He literally shut down Georgia's running game by himself. They kept going for it on 3rd/4th and short only to be stuffed. He had a spectacular play on a 4th and 1 in which he lept over the LOS and stuffed the fullback as he took the hand off. Seriously, this is what Ray Lewis and Junior Seau looked like when they were his age..

Could you imagine USC with both this kid and Mant'i Teo?

BTW when ASU refused to give Obama an honorary degree, did you see the documentary on ASU that one of the news organizations did??? It was hilarious it was a combo of the Jaywalk All-Stars and cinema verite. They went into the ASU library where they expected to find students studying and there were like 3 kids in there it was a cavernous hall of books with nothing going on....it was great.

    Terry,
No I can't. I am enjoying the fact that they don't play for the Trojans too much to ponder that :)

    re ASSU:

If they wanted to do a film on ASU students, they would need to go down to the river. Was the film maker from Stanford? Only someone too smart for their own good would assume that all students go to the library.
