Former Netanyahu Chief of Staff Says Israeli Strike on Iran “Imminent” – “We’ve Got To Do The Job”…
    [IMG]
    Via The Blaze:

The former chief of staff to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday an Israeli strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities is “imminent.”

Naftali Bennett appeared on Fox News’ “Huckabee” and painted a dire picture of a world with a nuclear Iran, saying Israel will not hesitate to take action if necessary — and that time is of the essence.

“We’re at the very last moment. This is going to be the first time in history that a maniacal, radical Islamic regime will acquire a nuclear weapon,” he said. “The day after they have a bomb will be a different day for the entire world.”

Calling Iran “an octopus of terror,” Bennett told host Mike Huckabee in no uncertain terms: “We have to stop them, and yes, it is imminent.”

Short of using our forces, they have no other rational alternative in my view......

Hard to imagine that the Iranians don't have all their facilities hardened to the max and extremely difficult if not impossible to take out with an airstrike...even using bunker busters.

This is no sure thing. Israel may not have what it takes to destroy the target. And they will most certainly be subjected to rocket and missile attacks from near and far. And how much, if any, support will they get from us?

Ready or not, Israel may not have a choice. As for hardened bunkers; don't forget that everything runs on electricity. No electricity...no machinery...no matter how deep it is buried.

Iran’s Grand Ayatollahs: Earth Belongs To Muslims, End Of The World Is Near…
    [IMG]
And these people are on the verge of going nuclear.

    Via Daily Caller:

Iran’s economy is struggling because of crippling new restrictions on the country’s financial system, but no amount of sanctions will keep the mullahs from their headlong pursuit of nuclear weapons, which they hope will help usher in Islamic dominance of the world. The religious leaders believe it is their responsibility, as foreshadowed by the Quran, to bring about nuclear war to facilitate the coming of the last Islamic Messiah.

Two Iranian grand ayatollahs are now saying that the Earth will soon be under the feet of Muslims, as promised by the Quran.

The clerical establishment in Iran has long believed that the Islamic Revolution of 1979 was a sign by Allah that the end of times is near and that the duty and responsibility of the believers is to become ready for such an event. [...]

“The Quran is very clear that the inheritors of the Earth will be those of the righteous who represent the force of the truth against the force of the false,” Sobhani says. “The Quran is the proof that the world will be controlled and managed by the forces of truth and that there will be one government ruling everyone throughout the world.”

Dem Lawyer Alan Dershowitz Declares All-Out War On Media Matters Over Anti-Israel Bias…
    [IMG]
    Giddy up.

    Via BuzzFeed:

Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, a leading Democratic lawyer who takes a hawkish line on Israel, has declared a personal war on the liberal group Media Matters, which has branched out into sharp criticism of Israel.

“Not only will [the Media Matters controversy] be an election matter, I will personally make it an election matter,” Dershowitz, a professor at Harvard Law School, told WABC’s Aaron Klein today.

Dershowitz has been sharply criticizing Media Matters for weeks, but suggested for the first time today he intends to drive the controversy into the political conversation.

“I don’t know whether President Obama has any idea that Media Matters has turned the corner against Israel in this way,” he said. “I can tell you this, he will know very shortly because I am beginning a serious campaign on this issue and I will not let it drop until and unless [writer and activist MJ] Rosenberg is fired from Media Matters, or Media Matters changes its policy or the White House disassociates itself from Media Matters.”

Report: Israel Won’t Warn U.S. Before Striking Iran…
    [IMG]
For what I’m assuming are obvious reasons.

(AP) — Israeli officials say they won’t warn the US if they decide to launch a preemptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, according to one US intelligence official familiar with the discussions. The pronouncement, delivered in a series of private, top-level conversations, sets a tense tone ahead of meetings in the coming days at the White House and Capitol Hill.

Israeli officials said that if they eventually decide a strike is necessary, they would keep the Americans in the dark to decrease the likelihood that the US would be held responsible for failing to stop Israel’s potential attack. The US has been working with the Israelis for months to persuade them that an attack would be only a temporary setback to Iran’s nuclear program.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak delivered the message to a series of top-level US visitors to the country, including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the White House national security adviser and the director of national intelligence, and top US lawmakers, all trying to close the trust gap between Israel and the US over how to deal with Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Netanyahu delivered the same message to all the Americans who have traveled to Israel for talks, the US official said.

Carney: Obama Relationship with Netanyahu “Functional”

To put it another way, they have to pretend to like each other.

    Via White House Dossier:

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney today was restrained in describing the relationship between President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, calling the ties between the two “functional” and “candid,” terms that suggest the problems between the men are as bad as people suspect.

Carney’s description shows the White House is unwilling to try to portray as close two leaders who are well known not to like each other, even as they together make decisions about Iran’s nuclear program and Middle East peace that have broad consequences for both nations’ futures.

Netanyahu is one of the few world leaders that will even be seen in the same photo as Obama and he looks like he wants to choke him. I find it curious how little "Business" travel outside the country this president does. He is the 'Rodney Dangerfield' of presidents.

Since his first meeting with their prime minister the British have called Obama "President Pantywaste" and that's how he's refered to in the British press.

Obama “Firmly Believes” Diplomacy Will Stop Iran From Building Nuclear Weapons…
    [IMG]
And I firmly believe Obama is an idiot.

    Via Free Beacon:

President Barack Obama still believes that “an opportunity remains for diplomacy” with the Iranian regime, which continues to enrich uranium and refuses to answer basic questions about its disputed nuclear program.

“I firmly believe that an opportunity remains for diplomacy — backed by pressure — to succeed,” Obama told more than 13,000 attendees at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual conference. “The United States and Israel both assess that Iran does not yet have a nuclear weapon, and we are exceedingly vigilant in monitoring their program.”

Economic sanctions are beginning to wear the regime down, Obama said, noting that there is still time for Iran to join the international “community of nations.”

“Sanctions are continuing to increase, and this July — thanks to our diplomatic coordination — a European ban on Iranian oil imports will take hold,” Obama said. “Faced with these increasingly dire consequences, Iran’s leaders still have the opportunity to make the right decision. They can choose a path that brings them back into the community of nations, or they can continue down a dead end.”

IRAN’S SUPREME LEADER PRAISES OBAMA’S ISRAEL STONEWALLING

    Breitbart.com

President Barack Obama has been working overtime to convince Jewish voters that he’s pro-Israel while simultaneously doing everything he can to keep Israel from taking pre-emptive action against the growing threat in Iran. He’s even offered to give the Israelis “advanced weaponry” systems in exchange for their pledge not to attack Iranian nuclear sites
    [IMG]
    Ali ”Krazy Eyes”Khamenei

In other words, the Israelis are being offered advanced weaponry on the condition that they don’t use it. That’s like offering someone a gun on the condition that they never put bullets in it. Whoopee.

Of course the Iranians sure are impressed with the fine job Obama is doing on their behalf, and to prove it, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is praising President Obama for trying to dissuade Israel from attacking Iran. And to hedge his bets, the Khamenei also made it clear that “there would be consequences for the United States… if a premature strike is launched on Iran.”

Netanyahu: Israel Will Protect Itself Even If America Objects…
    [IMG]
It’s not America that objects, it’s the joker living in the White House.

(JPost) — Saying publicly in the Knesset what he had only said privately to congressional leaders in Washington last week, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu stressed on Wednesday that Israel would act to defend itself even if the US objected.

“Israel has never left its fate in the hands of others, not even in the hands of our best friends,” he said in a speech that focused on the Iranian threat and drew a direct line from Tehran to the events earlier this week in Gaza. He also blamed the 2005 disengagement from the Gaza Strip for leading to Iran’s establishment of a “forward” terrorist base there.

Netanyahu cited legendary US secretary of state George Marshall as telling David Ben-Gurion in 1948 not to declare a state, and reminded the Knesset that US president Lyndon Johnson not only advised Israel against preemptive military action in 1967, but warned that “if you act alone, you will be alone.”

Likewise, he said, former prime minister Menachem Begin knew when he decided to attack the Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981 that he was going against US wishes and would come under sharp international criticism.

“But he fulfilled his obligation and acted,” said Netanyahu, possibly preparing the public for the prospect of Israeli military action even over US objections.

The prime minister said that a nuclear Iran would pose an “existential threat” to Israel, and that while he would prefer it if Iran voluntarily abandoned its nuclear ambitions, he had an “obligation” to retain Israel’s “independent ability” to defend itself.
