The single wing with a spinner is fun to watch. There is a 70-year-old high scholl coach in Menominee, Mi who has run it for years and his teams usually are one of the best in the state. I was amazed at their ball handling technique and usually had a hard time figuring out who had the ball. Most of he teams that play against them had the same problem.

I hope someone in college ball has the cojones to try it and suspect that it might happen given that the SW is now being used more and more in HS.

Maybe I'm a product of the Bo and Wody era and outdated but today's game, with everyone using the spread offense, is tedious. I wish that the NCAA would allow DBs to play bump in run coverage since college football is turning into the AFL of the early 60s with the glut of 50 point, pitch-and-catch, 4 hour scoreathons.

    Bob,

If they'd just rewrite the rules to force the officials to actually call holding, you'd see some return to normalcy.
Right now, it has to be a full take-down to be called, and even then it's chancy.

    Bob,
There are still a few teams that try to play defense.

    Scott,
I agree about the holding. They call it so rarely that it makes you wonder how blatant does it have to be to get called. But everything is okay because they have really clamped down on that dastardly celebrating!
