No not the soap...although it is my preferred soap, with Aloe Vera! :)

But we're past Easter now so a new topic is needed.

I was catching up with ND Spring Football and saw that Jarrett Grace seems to be having a great Spring so that he probably is the starter at Mike going into the fall. There were thoughts that Carlo would start at Mike and Fox would start at Will with Garrett backing up Carlo. But it looks like Foxy and Carlo will continue to share duties and Garrett will take the place to Te'o.

C.J.Proisse seems to be making a perm move to offense with the departure of Devonte Neal, Kelly said at the begining of Spring he was going to cross train but he's done so well on offense he's likely to stay there.

Unfortuneately all the big stories are a couple of players leaving and some injuries to Amir Carlisle, Tuitt and Ben Councell who hurt his shoulder ...again.

    IMHO:

Grace, Carlo and Fox will rotate through the two positions...

The move to offense of C.J. Prosise is what CAUSED Neal and Ferguson to transfer. If either one had looked good, Kelly wouldn't have been experimenting with defensive players. This move tells me that the Irish are loaded at safety, and the 6'2" 208lb Prosise can make plays that the other two couldn't make. Neither could beat out little Robby Toma last year, and the future of that position may be Prosise and incoming Will Fuller...

While publicly Neal's reason is the baby and baby momma, something tells me that JOCO's probably not wrong about that. BK likes athletes on offense. He likes body types. I don't always agree with that, but it's his offense so we go with it. CJ is his kind of kid and we are insanely loaded at safety.

Wow! Who would have thought as recently as a couple of years ago that we'd be saying that?

Yeah safety looks pretty good with Collinsworth, Farley, Shumate, and Houstonian Nicky Barratti. Not to mention that possibly the best safety hasn't arrived on campus yet from California! :)

BTW I was listening to Mike Frank's Power Hour last night and he mentioned that Notre Dame has not announced a new contract for Kelly as yet. He said it's a little worrying, and that some coaches may use it against us in recruiting. He also speculated that Kelly's agent might be the cause. I don't know but I wonder what the hold up is, could it be that Swarbrick wants to wait till after the Spring Game to tie up this loose end?

    Sid,

Agreed. Better than that, they are all tested. Last year's starter went down with an injury and it appears we replaced him with a better younger player. It seems that every time we put a new safety on the field, he looks amazing. As Terry correctly pointed out, there's a very real chance the best safety on the team isn't even in school yet. I wouldn't mind seeing some of these hitters who are weaker in coverage get a shot at LB... Given the emphasis we put on flexing LBs in space, they'd make good replacements and/or depth. SEC teams have used undersized, super fast safety/LBs for years now.

Skylar Diggins leads the Irish back to the Final Four again. I hope they can win a title for both Coach McGraw and for Skylar.

We face UConn for the 4th time this season. It's hard enough to beat a good team 3 times. They will be loaded for bear the 4th time we play them. We will need a flawless game to have a chance.

I turned off the Louisville-Tennessee game with about 10 minutes to go. Unless Tennessee made a great comeback, Louisville will be the giant killer in the Final Four.

Tennessee clawed back to 3 points down with about 2 minutes left and ran out of gas. Tennessee lost by 8 after being down by 20 earlier.

Pretty Good transition year for the Vols. Had to be hard for everybody with Pat stepping down and the Asst no matter how ready she was to take over finally being the one in charge. Vols still have a lot of talent and have always recruited well so I expect they will continue to be in the Nat'l Title picture.

FWIW, I just read that Kiper has Eifert at #17 to Steelers and T'eo at #20 to Bears.

Well Diggins will leave with no NCAA titles, she's had a great career though with 3 final 4's and slew of records. Good luck to her at the next level! Did I say it was tough to beat a team 4 times in a row?

This is sort of out of the blue...but I did not know that ND had as many club sports as it does. They have more Club level sports than they do Varsity sports. Pretty nice for kids who want to still compete at a level above intramural sports.
