ND got one of the top PG's in the country today when Demetrius Jackson a 5* PG from South Bend verbaled to Mike Brey and the Irish.

They beat out B1G rival Illinois for his commitment. I sort of followed his recruitment and I really didn't think we would get him. He seemed to be looking for a reason not to stay close to home, naturally being a South Bend kid and playing at Marian he was very familiar with ND, and somehow that seemed to work against us. But in the end he chose the Irish.

This class is probably Brey's best class. Good for him! He's got a new contract and he seemingly has hit a zone in the way his teams have played in the last few years. They seem to be stronger as a whole than their individual parts. Maybe he's going to make that next step up to being a coach who regularily challenges for league titles and deep runs in the NCAA. At least I hope so..

I just read about this today. Great catch for the Irish. I would not dare to compare Mike Brey with John Wooden, but it's well known that Wooden coached for many years at UCLA before he began his incredible run of national championships. My point is that, while Brey has had some notable success during his time at ND, he possibly could have a higher level of success ahead of him.

Challenging for a league championship will be difficult now that we will have Duke and NC in our league.

Commish played ball at U of D Jesuit in Detroit. They didn't play Breyball.

    Gip,

    LOL

This is a nice pick up, if we're going to compete with Duke and NC, we're going to need some bodies that play defense and board.
