It's a big suprise to me, with all the names being tossed around publically this guy was never even mentioned. Here's the link to his Bio on the firms website. Sid, Gip you guys ever heard of him? John Swarbrick
Never heard of him. He graduated 10 years after I did. Brian as a lawyer and an Indy resident might know of him. He certainly has an impressive resume. How it will translate into being a successful AD remains to be seen. If he was a key mover in bringing the super bowl and other big sports events to the city, it certainly speaks well to his promotional capabilities. Also, if he was a legitimate contender for the NCAA presidency, he must be for real. Interesting choice for sure.
Welcome Jack and I hope you are "DaMan"!! Interesting that they already had so many endorsements of his selection in that press release. I assume that Swarbrick gave them a list of friends and associates who they could contact for comments, that they aren't unsolicited comments. Also interesting that Fr. Jenkins is also a 1976 ND Grad, and Weis is a 1977 ND Grad as is Joe Montana. The future of ND is in the hands of the guys from the late 70's at this point. Good Luck to them.
Jumbotron! Jumbotron! <r>Hey, new AD....Jumbotron! Jumbotron! Jumbotron! Jumbotron! Think about it. <E>8)</E></r>
I'm really not a fan of Jumbotrons. The one at Texas is freakin' huge, and is dominated by advertisements. I wouldn't miss it if it exploded and was never replaced. I don't even care for the ones at Reliant Stadium (Texans).
I don't mind the one we have at Kyle Field... but it's not COVERED in advertising as the one at Terry's house is...
