Irish land verbal commitment from Cole Luke, a 4* CB from Arizona. Chose ND over Oklahoma, Mich, Texas etc. definately fills need.
A lot of people at Texas including the fans thought he would be a Longhorn. He was supposedly very close to Longhorn DB coach Duane Akina, and going into the season there was a lot of talk and high expectations for the Longhorn defense. But the opposite has happened and the Longhorn defense has been just awful and now there is rampant speculation that DCoord Manny Diaz and Duane Akina will be history after the season. Then add to it our defensive play and he could see the development of our young CB's and Safety's and it's not hard to see why he is going to be joining the Irish. Also his coach is a former backup QB for ND under Lou (Steve Belles) so he knows all about ND. He's has a ton of potential and we have the coaches to help him realize it.
ND <t>Terry,<br/> <br/> Sounds good. funny how this winning stuff just takes care of recruiting huh?<br/> Sounds like a really good get for the Irish.</t>
Kid is an awesome talent and together with Jaylon Smith we've got a couple of future AA's. I guess I'm not really sure why he flirted with Fla though.
8) Anzalone has been torn between Ohio State, Notre Dame and Florida. The Gators are the only one of those teams that has lost a game, but things could change later. I'll believe this kid is Irish when I see him suited up...
I keep hearing rumors about the Mattingly kid still taking visits inspite of Irish coaches asking him not to take them. He may not make it into this class. The USC kid who just reopened his recruiting, Max Redfield, is considering the Irish. Also Clemson verbal Demarcus Robinson had an excellent visit to ND and came away very impressed..but still committed to Clemson. Last couple of slots are going to be interesting to see who fills them.
