Well the only team from the midwest, the unranked ND lacross team knocked off no. 3 Maryland today earning a spot in the Final Four next weekend in Baltimore. The ACC is just dominant in this sport. Their non conference record this year was 44-2. The two losses were hung on Duke and Maryland by the Irish.

I picked this up...only 7 teams have ever won a NCAA Lacrosse championship.

Johns Hopkins, Syracuse, Princeton, North Carolina, Virginia, Cornell, and Maryland.

And there have only been 12 teams who even played in the finals. Add Navy, Loyola (MD), Duke, UMass, and Towson.

Note the Irish will be the first team ever from the midwest to even play in the NCAA final.

    Go Irish.

Good effort by ND. Hard fought game. Tough way to lose in OT.

As has been observed by many already...I thought Danny Ainges eligibility had expired! :)

As far as Duke goes, I feel bad for the 3 Duke Lacrosse players who were crucified by the press and the D.A. before the evidence was even collected. They were the victiims and while they did get apologies and all that, their lives were irretriveably damaged. Todays game had nothing to do with all that.

Maybe they'll invite highter class strippers to their victory party.
