I know that Gipper was talking about this and I think Sid was as well. What is the application that allows you to read books designed for the Nook on an iPad?
Never mind. Found it with a search of Gipper's posts. I now have Kindle and have downloaded the Barnes and Noble Nook application. First book purchased for the Nook application was: Verbal Judo. Great book recommended by self defense instructors for de-escalating situations so that the need for deadly force is reduced.
How do you like reading with an iPad? Some have commented that it is too big and that the eInk on the Kindle and it's size make it better for reading a whole book. iPad excellent for reading periodicals. What's your take?
Maybe if I started with the Kindle I would think otherwise. The iPad for me is easy to read because of the size. Any smaller text would be difficult for me.
Tom Do you find yourself using your ipad in the landscape position or vertical? I tend to use mine in landscape.... Terry imagine holding a 8" x 11" piece of paper and you have an ipad comparison. RC
Re: Ipad Is it necessary to have a Mac desktop in order to use an Ipad, or is the operation of the Ipad completely independent of what type of desktop operating system I have? Please keep in mind I'm techno-ignorant but fond of toys.
The iPad (depending on model) can connect to the internet using WiFi and/or 3G cellular connection. The only need for a laptop or desktop is to sync iTunes like and iPod. It matters not whether it is a Mac or PC.
Tom Hope you're enjoying your iPad as much as I am. Sure is easy to travel with. Find many hotel rooms don't have wifi and I end up in the lobby or the nearest Starbucks. Using on a plane is a great way to pass the time.
I just did the 4.2 update and have to say that it does improve a few of the options on the ipad. My only beef is the airprint only works on hp printers so I still cannot use my wireless printer I bought from apple when I bought my wife her imac....Sucks!!
