On our trip we were lucky enough to drop by the Huskerman household for a nice evening, no make that a wonderful evening. The Huskerman family know how to make people feel at home. I’ve never seen so much red clothing in my life, between the Corn Huskers and the Cardinals lots of red around that house, even some real cardinal birds. AJ took us on a tour of the Ft. Leonard Wood base, it looked like a beautiful college campus. However the most interesting part of the evening was during the tour of Ft. Leonard Wood when I looked through the front windshield while we were driving along and a good sized snake was crawling from under the hood up on the windshield. It kept looking at us through the windshield, wanting in the car I guess. When the snake just wouldn’t get off the car AJ stopped the car and went to his trunk and got a golf club to gently lift the snake off the car and onto the grass where it quickly took off to distance it’s self as far as possible from us. Huskerman insists this has never happened before, personally I think he has a trained snake to impress his guests.  Thanks for a nice evening AJ and family.
So, let me guess... Across the mountain to Tennessee, through Chattanooga, through Nashville, up through Kentucky, over to St Louis, and down through Ft Leonard Wood. We need one of those maps that shows the car traveling across country to follow this tour.
Cardinal Fans and Snakes in the grass.....hmmmmmmmmm seems to me a natural! I envy you Bill, getting to meet the fabled Huskerman on his home turf. Did he make you a Runza? Terry
LOL...at 1st I thought it was a present from the Swamp! Damdest thing I ever saw, this thing (Grass Snake) just started crawling up the outside of the windshield like he was site seeing with the rest of us. Guess this place isn't called lost in the woods for nuttin'... Bill, I had a great time also, Shawn really enjoyed Jeannie, she says they're going to be really good friends. You guys travel safe and we'll see ya in July at the game!!
Almost right Tom. Over the mountain to Knoxville to visit our daughter, eat your heart out! Over 40 to Nashville and north to Padacuh. From there to St. Charles in West St. Louis to meet a blogger friend of my wife, and her husband, then south out of St. Louis to AJ's area for supper. We are off in a few minutes to Kansas City on a route Lakes of the Ozarks that AJ laid out for us. We will arrive in KC for supper and be there until a week from today when we head to Colorado. Jeanne hasn't posted anything about our trip on her blog yet, but will probably do that tomorrow. I posted the link in the other topic, but it's Backyard Neighbor
A lot of great pictures of grandkids and flowers on that Blog! I'll look forward to the updates on your trip. If you remember Gonzo always wanted a picture of you and a moose so if you see on be sure and get a photo with it!
The trip through the Lake of the Ozarks was fun. We didn't get many pictures though. We arrived at my sisters house in Kansas City, where we will also be staying for the Skybox gathering. They didn't have a wireless internet connection so I spent the morning getting one installed and working and am on it right now. As far as posting pictures on my wife's blog there will probably not be much of that until we arrive in Colorado next week. But Jeanne has promised me to do that once we get into the mountains. As far as the moose, I hope to find one, but don't intend to get to close to one of them, I understand they can be vicious. Hey AJ, that's the view from your back porch isn't it? Again thanks to AJ and his family for the great evening. And I didn't find a snake in my car. Hey they are great looking grandchildren aren't they?
Well we are in Jackson Hole and have a workable internet. Jeanne made a post on her blog this morning about out visit to the Martin's, as I said earlier it was great. Also starting back on Wednesday Jeanne has shown a lot of pictures from our vacation. Her post tomorrow will have more if you would like to look. I've posted it before, but her blog is Backyard Neighbor Feel free to leave a comment. I don't know if any of your wives blog, but if they do or are interested let them know too. I didn't know what a big world blogging is, but Jeanne has met people in North Carolina, Missouri and soon to be Colorado that she has met though blogging. And a year ago she couldn't hardly even use a computer, now we both have one and when I couldn't log in the last couple of nights I had a tough time scrounging a few minutes from her.
