There's been a lot written about the SEC tv contracts but I don't remember reading that much about the Big Ten Contracts. However if I read this article right the Big 10 brings in more money than the SEC.

Who can explain the Big 10 network to me?

Bill the SEC gets over 3 Billion the next 15 years. The Big Ten Network contract is for 25years, so really the SEC is getting more per/year.

But there is a lot of money out there isn't there?

Sure is Terry. It looks like those two conferences are bringing in the top dollars.

Do you know just what is the Big 10 network? Is that their tv channel? If so isn't that a lot of money for something so new?

    Bill,

The Big Ten Network is a 24 hour channel that covers many Big Ten sports for men and women. Football and basketball are the biggest draws, as one would surmise.

They run interesting stories from a fans point of view and televise a lot of top rated games from years past.

They had some difficulity getting the network started, due to cable companies wanting to charge a a premium to view. Now most cable companies here in the midwest do not charage an extra fee. Some of the programs are in HD, but not all.

Big money for all the schools to share.

Thanks Don, I do know about that cable show. But isn't that a lot of money for that kind of setup. I'm very surprised that they can pay as much as national sports network.

But that is a great deal of money the Big 10 is getting.
