That is an interesting article. But it's not like we are where we are with terrible recruiting. They have us in the top 10 over the last 5 years composite, so we're still one of he better schools in terms of recruiting. I'll bet the main difference between us and Alabama and Ohio State is the number of 5 stars. They really boost your recruiting rankings. We haven't haven't had a 5 star player in quite awhile, while Alabama and Ohio State and now Georgia get multiple 5 star players every year. Looking at that top 10 it occurs to me that no school has done less with more than LSU.
We haven't had a five star in a bit either Terry, but I think that is about to change for the Gators. I have to agree with your analysis. Notre Dame has recruited consistently well if not great and you have had a very good season. I do believe however that it's going to be tough getting by Clemson.
I do believe that's the conventional wisdom Bill, that Clemson and Alabama have seperated themselves from the rest of the field and that their games are just warm ups for their eventual meeting for the Championship. I know a lot of people think that Georgia is the 3rd best team in college football and that they would have beaten either Notre Dame or OU handily. So we shall see, upsets happen!
Obviously, any of the four teams in the playoffs has a great chance to win. Take nothing for granted.
Put me in the camp that Georgia being the third best team is BS with capital letters. They have let Bama come back from double digits in two games across the last two seasons. They lost, have two losses and do not belong in the championship mix. In my humble opinion the four teams there are most deserving.
