Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be camped out on his front lawn for a week, demanding his job and reparations. Should this not be taken more seriously than Imus' comments? Afterall, this guy was being serious. What phonies those two clowns are.

Edwards: 'Pretty Soon We’re Not Going to Have a Young African-American Male Population in America.'

Asked about what he could do about "inner-city kids partaking in violence" at the MTV/MySpace Forum yesterday, Democratic candidate John Edwards offered an apocalyptic prediction for young black males:

“We cannot build enough prisons to solve this problem. And the idea that we can keep incarcerating and keep incarcerating — pretty soon we’re not going to have a young African-American male population in America. They’re all going to be in prison or dead. One of the two.”

Wow, you're right. Those could easily be perceived as inflammatory remarks. However, I was also shocked to read that W said that Muslim, Christian, and Jew prayed to the same God. While theoretically this is true, W as a proclaimed believer in Jesus Christ should understand the the basic tenet of Christian belief is that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Conversely Muslims believe Muhammad's revelations are the true answer. While the God of Abraham may be shared by all three religions, the interpretation of that God is nowhere near the same. Here I go talking about religion. Isn't that one of the three things you're supposed to never talk about amongst friends? I'll quit now.....unless someone has something to add or debate.

    I think

<r>what he meant to say is that Christians, Jews, and Muslims all have the same bomb.... <E>;)</E><br/>

I think its just a centrist approach (for once) to try and diffuse a nasty situation being made worse by the day by folks digging into the extreme positions.</r>
