to Columbus in March, 2008. Just got back to NJ from four days in Ohio which included competing in the 2007 Arnold Sports Festival, an annual event of a number of sports and competitions hosted by The Terminator himself. Included were numerous bodybuilding and fitness competitions, martial arts, gymnastics, power lifting, cheerleading etc., etc.. We were told there were over 100,000 in attendance. My youngest son Adam and I competed in the Pump and Run which is a bench press competition coupled with a 5K run. There were 600 entrants in that event alone from several states. You get a 30 second credit off your run time for every successful strict repetition you do on the bench press as judged by U.S. Marines. I had to lift 80% of my body weight in the age 50-59 division and was able to put it up the 150lbs. 14 times so I got a 7 minute credit off my 5K time of 33:20 ( I hate to run ). Much room for improvement! My son bench his full body weight of 170lbs. 18 times and ran the 5K in 26 something. Saw Arnold up close at the starting line; he was looking pretty good except that he is still walking with a cane after knee surgery. Also met Lou Ferrigno who could do a poster for bodybuilders and what they look like after they stop taking steroids. I say we get a SkyBox team togther for next year... who's with me?
I'm impressed! I've met a lot of Skyboxers and I'm guessing only you, HFHM, Scott88, and Gonzo are in good enough shape not to risk death in that competition!! Gort would of course be disqualifed as an active duty marine. Terry

George, Next time you come down for Arnold's Show, let me know. We are only minutes away here in New Albany. Gosh I could have helped you out with all that lifting. Don
Hey Don, I had dinner the night befoere at a place called Bistro 121 or something like that. It was right across the street from the Shoe. had one of the best meals I've had in a long time....
I volunteer to assist Stu. He's a doctor so I'm confident that he knows the precise amount of alcohol that we can consume without falling face-down in the mashed potatoes... .............Watch Mr. Wizard...JO'Co
Fort Wayne is only 3 hours from Columbus, so I won't even bother to drive. I'll just run over to get warmed up for the events. Of course, I'll be doing a face plant about a mile from my house.
The first 500 yards was straight up hill on High St. Into the wind. I thought I was going to die. I did all my training indoors... Collateral damage includes a mild shin splint on my left leg and and a tight right hamstring. But don't let this deter you. If I can do it YOU can do it! Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! Now, who's with me?
