or at least the replay, check out Fred Thompson's speech. Thompson has always struck me as a Southern Reagan... Too bad he didn't give it more of a run.
I watched the speech. I had no idea what McCain had gone through as a POW. Thompson brought the story to life in a way that had me hanging on his every word. It was a riveting speech. He has a commanding presence, but I never saw him as presidential material.
I was hoping that Fred would be more forceful in his run for president. But he was hesitant in getting in and didn't give it much of an effort. I have to wonder if life isn't pretty good for him these days and he figured why do I want to jump into the cesspool that is presidential politics. No doubt his attractive 2nd wife would have been a big target for the Liberal media. Why bother with the aggrivation. It'll be interesting to hear Gov. Palin tonight. She's taken a pretty good beating in the media since being announced. They've dug as deep as possible, even finding her husbands 1984 DWI. She needs a big speech that shows she's VP timber.
I have read about John McCains ordeal as a POW. Watch him tomorrow night when he lifts his arms, they will not go over his head. Palin was outstanding tonight in my opinion. I hope McCain does as well tomorrow night.
....even the liberal media pundits couldn't deny that "a star is born". She was extraordinary - confident, real and a little sassy! What's not to like????? 8)
