Well there was a time that Whitney Houston was a great singer, her version of I will always love you (written by Dolly Parton) was terrific, and she arguably did the best Nat'l Anthem ever. Still Osama is no Bobby Brown, so he had no chance! Terry
( OK, Bob, breathe easy and just think this through for a second. When this commonly used phrase is spoken -- "This stuff sounds like music you would hear in a dentist's office" -- should that phrase be translated as meaning that the dental profession, as a whole, is known for their excellent taste in music?)
I should not joke about musical tastes keeping in mind the adage about glass houses/stone throwing. I have been listening a lot lately to Serbian brass band music ( think of wild gypsy music played by brass instruments rather than violins and guitar). I think Anne is secretly preparing papers to have me sent to a quiet place where I can wear a jacket with sleeves that wrap around my body.
It just goes to show that you never know people as well as you think. I had Bobda down as fan of this guy... 8)
No joke, Terry. Buy this album... It's called "Hillbilly Jazz". I bought it because Vassar Clements (violin) plays on it. You won't be disappointed. Lots of Texas Swing. Click on the picture and it'll take you to Amazon where you can listen to some samples.
That was pretty interesting, a little different from what I like. I do like Cowboy music though, my favorites are more melodic old Cowboy songs. Michael Martin Murphy, Riders in the Sky, Cowboy Junkies and my all time favorite Red Stegall. He used to have a radio show that was on Sunday nights in Houston from 10-midnight. I rarely ever missed it. It was really cool. Listen to Dear Mamma I'm a Cowboy Red Stegall I think my all-time favorite Cowboy song is Cool Water. Of course I forgot all the Marty Robbins stuff! I'm sure Bobda doesn't have any of his stuff!! Terry
