Had to bring this up as the mouth of the Lions ole Roy Williams really spoke well this week with a guarantee the powerhouse Lions would beat the Bears. Then in his brilliance he said " we were so close to scoring 40 last week" They scored six points, lol.

Nice job Roy as the Lions lost 34-7. Every week its another moron on center stage.

Had Roy riding the pine on my fanatsy team this week because of that comment.

I know..I know...why do I have any Lion on my team but he was a 6th round steal in my draft.....I think.

I guess maybe your pickup of McNair wasn't such a bad choice after all either was it.

Whoever picked culpepper early thinking he would regain his 2004 mvp type numbers, was dead wrong. Lol at the Dolphins. Although.. I don't have much room to speak seeing that my bucs are 0-2 and have looked horrendous. Hopefully we turn things around. Carolina is also suprisingly 0-2. Lets hope Vick and Atlanta dont run away with the division

11 penalties and 2 turnovers is a terrible game. For the Lions that was the first half today. What other team could have its QB go 17 for 19 and be trailing 24-7? I almost feel sorry for Rod Marinelli. New jockey, same lame horse.

My candidate for Idiot of the Week is Nebraska's new cornerback, who "guaranteed" a victory over USC at the Coliseum on Saturday. Consider that......he's a JUCO transfer from Fresno who's only previous Div-1 playing time was at home against Louisiana Tech and Nicholls State... He also claimed that he "Chose Nebraska over USC" in last year's recruiting wars, even though Pete Carroll denies ever offering him a scholarship...

He was burned to a cinder on several TD plays...

In fairness to the kid from Nebraska, he did not "guarantee" a victory. I saw the video. He simply said, "When we beat USC......... The last part was something like it will be a big boost for our team. Big difference IMO. The ESPN heads ran with it. Not sure why. It was not that big a deal until they turned it into one to bump interest in their family network game.

    Sid,
I didn't see anything on ESPN. This was during the telecast of the game on ABC and repeated in the morning LA Times...

    re: Moody

Moody is a great one, but he alternates with two other HSAAs that PC recruited along with senior Chauncey Washington who has finally become eligible after four years. He beat out both Reggie Bush and LenDale White when they were freshmen before flopping in the classroom...

    JO'Co,

Didn't Brent Musberger do the play by play? He of the eternal hyperbole? Like I said, what I heard from the kid and what I heard on TV from the heads and Musberger were two different things. I understand why you had the impression you did.
