Cards certainly had a heart stopping weekend, 2 bottom of the 9th wins and then on the last day they lose....but Astros lose also!! Huskers come out and look like they are going to steam roll Kansas, then the worm turns and the Jayhawks take the Huskers to OT, while rolling up impressive yardages in the air and on the ground in the 2nd half. In fact the way things were going I was surprised that Mangino didn't go for 2 and try to finish them off in regulation. Had to have had Huskerfan sweating!! Terry
Had me sweatin' like a whore in church.....I was shakin' like a junkie in a poppy field.... Did you know in a 21-20 loss, that the Univ of Kansas had a 2 point conversion attempt fail in the last 10 seconds of their game against Nebraska in 1994? I wonder who won the NC that year? And lets not forget Univ of Mizzou and the flea kicker play that lead to OT....hmmmmmm who won the NC that year? Wonder if the stars are alinged this year? He he he..... DOC, I'M GOING TO SHOOT YOU AN E-MAIL, PLEASE CALL ME AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVEINANCE...... BTW, I am officially a civilian as of 0001 hrs on Oct 1st......Semper Fi.
Husker... <t>Congrats!! I watched most of the Nebraska game and the last quarter for sure. That was one of those games all teams have in a 12 game schedule. Sometime during the year no matter how much better you are in that one game the other team hangs in there and you cannot make them go away and they get close to getting you in the end. The big guy at Kansas is a good football coach and I hope he lives long enough to enjoy bringing Kansas back but man you have to worry for him.<br/> <br/> On the Cards its obvious this is not a vintage club with their pitching woes and injuries. Bottom line in that division they are simply the best of a bad lot and that includes the Astros who until last week have been a sub .500 team most of the year. Lifelong Cards fan here and glad for the division title but like the rest of this years National league nobody is going anywhere in the series. Just an honest opinion.</t>
