Ole Miss is a lot better than I gave them credit for being. They took it to A&M. I agree with Scott that they are badly in need of quality linebackers. Just one 5 star headhunter patrolling behind the LOS would eliminate half of those big QB runs.

The Ole Miss defense is so fast, they made the A&M offensive skill look average. Those guys aren't average. Well done Rebs.

Rebs, Stark Vegas dogs, Dawgs, Awwwbun, Bammer and even Hawgs....and still a tough out Tigers.....

Seriously dude...... has there ever been a tougher looking conference in CFB?

Sure the SEC East is fading but watch for Kentucky in their bowl this year against some other conference also ran.....I'll take the Cats.

Honestly, the East looks pretty terrible. I'm not even kidding.

The West is just brutal. The better way to word that is 'Has there been a better division in a conference?' and I'd have to say no. I might be crazy, but I think Arkansas has a very real chance at beating Georgia next week.

Kentucky has beaten UT-Martin, Ohio, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and La-Monroe. They'll make a bowl because their division is terrible, but if they lose to LSU, I can see them getting crushed by Miss State.

The state of Mississippi is about to go into shock. They have the two best teams in the SEC.

Ole Miss is good, certainly better than the Aggies, but they aren't as good as their in state cousins.

I won't take long to tire you with my review of our coaching for this game - suffice to say, our young OC is in WAY over his head. When armchair QBs such as myself can tell you exactly what the defense is doing, and we still try to go east west into it's designed strength...
    DUH!

Once our DC realized a 3 man front (with an additional shitty LB) wasn't working and switched back to 4-2, we actually did slow their offense down enough to win with a little offensive help.
Of course that wasn't in the plan...

Is there a rule in the SEC that when you're a freshman, you NEVER get a holding call? Poor Miles Garrett is a total beast of a DE, but he's going against WWF OL's who are invisible to the refs.
    Sad.

    :x

On holding: It's pretty much the lament of every fan, yesterday ND fans said that the ACC refs had decided that UNC was incapable of holding.

I don't know the answer, the old adage that you can call holding on just about every play if you want to probably is still true.

Terry, yeah that's understood, and I'm ok with it if they are consistent.
BUT... they had no trouble calling holding on us multiple times - only got one call on them very late in the game when it didn't matter.

The refs were all over UF Dbs last night for even the slightest tug of the jersey.

I'm not complaining about the refs because over the past 3-4 years or so I think we have been getting a decent shake with the refs.

    But not last night.

If this team were better I could even be pissed..... buy they're not.... and I'm not.

    Just disheartened.

How does an SEC Championship game between Kentucky and one of the two Miss schools sound?

    like a 45 point blowout.

    Scott,

I gotta admit that there's more than a few times I wonder "WTF' your coordinators are thinking, but it's not my team so I just let it be. You guys are better than you've shown, but you do have some major problems at LB which just doesn't cut it in the division you're in.
