Watched most all of the Bama spring game on ESPN yesterday. This was because I miss college football and was a bit under the weather. Anyway I just wanted to see the new players and how much talent Saban has now in that program. In spite of the ingrate Mark May and at times Craig James I enjoyed the game. Saban is doing just waht he did at LSU and that is loading up with great prospects and depth. The ONLY position they may be a bit short in experience is the secondary and even there they are loaded just young. QBS looked good and yes they are three deep there as well. Ingram and Richardson are studs and loads of speed at the wideouts. On defense # 57 is a number one pick in the making as he destroyed Texas in the title game and cannot be blocked. They have young players that jump out at you on defense at the LB and DE positions. The only ugly from the game is they have no punter. All this and a great freshman class hasn't reported yet with the exception of a few early guys that are already there. SEC has their hands full with that bunch next year.
Larry, No punter is right. Last year the kicker and punter were pretty good but the defense against returns was terrible. The only weakness we really had. We're supposed to have a good punter coming in this summer but that area of the game could be a real problem.
